- Strong knowledge of MS programs including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Solid verbal, written communication, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to adapt to a changing environment and prioritize tasks accordingly
- Familiarity with debt capital markets preferred (e.g., coursework and/or relevant work experience)
- Prior experience with financial/legal documentation review
- Basic understanding of artificial intelligence concepts, with curiosity and enthusiasm for learning how AI tools can be used to improve processes and drive efficiency. Interest in exploring AI systems and a willingness to develop awareness of responsible AI practices, including risk management and ethical use
- Bachelor's degree in Finance or related field
- Review lengthy debt documents and rating-relevant provisions within deal documents or pricing supplements
- Apply various rules, guidelines, and procedures to a subset of issuances submitted for rating assignment
- Determine qualification using defined criteria for a current published rating or whether further analysis is required by the Lead Analyst
- Facilitate the gathering of all required documentation and regularly track news wires and vendors, appropriately flagging relevant items and developments related to the debt markets
- Develop broad-based knowledge of financial instruments, policies, and related business practices
- Facilitate comprehensive issuance portfolio management and issuer relationship management where needed
- Promptly and efficiently escalate, identify, and research issuance discrepancies or conflicts, and summarize findings for the Lead Analyst
- Interact with issuers, investors, and intermediaries as part of the rating process
- Provide professional and prompt resolution to inquiries for both internal and external clients
- Accept new challenges and demonstrate flexibility with last-minute changes in commitments and deadlines
For US-based roles only: the anticipated hiring base salary range for this position is $56,200.00 - $81,550.00, depending on factors such as experience, education, level, skills, and location. This range is based on a full-time position. In addition to base salary, this role is eligible for incentive compensation. Moody’s also offers a competitive benefits package, including not but limited to medical, dental, vision, parental leave, paid time off, a 401(k) plan with employee and company contribution opportunities, life, disability, and accident insurance, a discounted employee stock purchase plan, and tuition reimbursement.
