Skills and Competencies
- 10 years extensive product management experience within insurance technology, underwriting analytics, SaaS platforms, or reinsurance digital transformation, with strong knowledge of underwriting, pricing, placement, and specialty risk workflows, 3+ years leading product teams or workstreams
- Deep understanding of the insurance, reinsurance, E&S/MGA, ILS, and specialty risk ecosystems, including primary underwriting, E&S/MGA distribution, reinsurance placement, and capital-linked risk
- Strong industry presence or engagement through thought leadership, articles, blog posts, panel participation, conference attendance or speaking, and involvement in relevant industry associations or committees
- Proven ability to support platform modernization, multi-product delivery, and cross-application architecture across scalable SaaS and risk ecosystem solutions
- Strong technical acumen with working knowledge of APIs, shared services, data contracts, modular architecture, reusable frameworks, and shared components across product platforms
- Experience supporting innovation through AI/ML, pricing engines, exposure enrichment, digital placement, portfolio analytics, PoCs, accelerators, partner pilots, and emerging product capabilities
- Demonstrated ability to engage senior stakeholders, including Chief Underwriting Officers, CIOs, innovation leaders, brokers, reinsurers, engineering leaders, and go-to-market partners
- Strong leadership, communication, analytical, and execution skills, with the ability to coach product teams, set OKRs, influence roadmap decisions, and drive measurable commercial impact
Education
- Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree, MBA, or relevant insurance, actuarial, technology, or product management certifications are a plus.
Responsibilities
- Represent Moody’s across insurance, reinsurance, E&S/MGA, and ILS communities through industry forums, client meetings, conferences, committees, working groups, and thought leadership activities
- Partner with senior leaders to contribute to industry conversations and support modernization across the underwriting lifecycle, including primary underwriting and E&S/MGA workflows
- Execute on the platform and cross-application architecture vision defined by senior leadership, supporting interoperability, scalability, modularity, and shared capabilities across the Moody’s risk ecosystem
- Collaborate with platform engineering, architecture, data, and product leaders on APIs, shared services, data contracts, reusable frameworks, and components powering multiple products
- Help develop, validate, and deliver innovative product concepts and market-differentiating capabilities using AI/ML, pricing engines, exposure enrichment, digital placement, portfolio analytics, PoCs, and partner pilots
- Lead and coach a team of product managers, providing day-to-day direction, establishing clear OKRs, and building a culture of technical excellence, client-centric thinking, and thoughtful execution
- Support cohesive cross-product delivery across Intelligent Risk Platform applications, ensuring seamless user experiences, data flow, prioritization, roadmap alignment, and execution frameworks
- Drive adoption, retention, product growth, commercialization inputs, positioning, pricing frameworks, and expansion into emerging and global markets, including E&S, specialty, and capital-linked risk
About the Team
The Product Management team within Moody’s Insurance Property & Specialty business builds and evolves SaaS platforms that help insurers, reinsurers, MGAs, and ILS investors underwrite more effectively, price risk accurately, optimize portfolio performance, and bring new products to market faster. The team partners closely with engineering, architecture, data science, commercial, and domain experts to modernize underwriting, pricing, placement, and portfolio workflows across the global insurance and reinsurance ecosystem. This team plays a key role in shaping the next generation of connected underwriting platforms, enabling smarter risk decisions, frictionless placement, and scalable innovation across the insurance value chain.
For US-based roles only: the anticipated hiring base salary range for this position is $171,100.00 - $248,050.00, depending on factors such as experience, education, level, skills, and location. This range is based on a full-time position. In addition to base salary, this role is eligible for incentive compensation. Moody’s also offers a competitive benefits package, including not but limited to medical, dental, vision, parental leave, paid time off, a 401(k) plan with employee and company contribution opportunities, life, disability, and accident insurance, a discounted employee stock purchase plan, and tuition reimbursement.
