Skills and Competencies
  • 3+ years of experience in the asset management industry, including a solid understanding of investment processes, risk management, and operational controls related to asset management businesses
  • Knowledge of fund risk and performance metrics, including Information Ratio, Sharpe Ratio, Merton Skill Measure, Maximum Drawdown, and Alpha
  • Familiarity with CVM regulations governing asset managers and investment funds is a plus
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and PowerPoint; advanced Microsoft Excel skills are required
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in both Portuguese and English
  • Ability to manage competing priorities, meet deadlines effectively, and adapt to a dynamic environment with shifting demands
  • Knowledge of Python programming and Visual Basic for Applications (VBA) is a plus
  • Basic understanding of artificial intelligence concepts, with curiosity and enthusiasm for learning how AI tools can be used to improve processes and drive efficiency. Interest in exploring AI systems and a willingness to develop awareness of responsible AI practices, including risk management and ethical use
Education
  • Undergraduate degree (e.g., Bachelor's degree) required in a relevant field, such as Economics, Accounting, Engineering, Business Administration, Statistics, or Actuarial Science
Responsibilities
The Analyst will conduct investment manager quality assessments, support portfolio monitoring, and contribute to the growth of Moody's Local Brazil's analytical franchise.
  • Conduct investment manager quality assessments in accordance with Moody's Local methodology
  • Perform initial and ongoing assessments of a dedicated portfolio of investment manager quality assessments
  • Actively monitor the portfolio and make timely recommendations regarding assessment transitions
  • Present analyses clearly and accurately in assessment committees and other internal analytical meetings, developing well-supported assessment rationales and communicating them persuasively
  • Produce timely and relevant research on specific asset managers and broader asset management industry trends
  • Contribute to the growth of Moody's Local Brazil's franchise through market outreach and transparency initiatives
  • Lead meetings, effectively presenting key investment manager quality assessment factors and asking insightful questions that foster substantive discussions on critical assessment issues
