Skills and Competencies
Ten to fifteen years of relevant experience with complex financial instruments and/or accounting principles
Well-developed analytical skills with the ability to assess complex credits at the individual, industry, and country levels
Proven track record managing and developing high-performing analytical teams
Strong written and oral communication capabilities in English and Spanish
Ability to manage multiple competing priorities within deadlines
Demonstrated ability to establish strategic direction and drive execution of team goals
Strong stakeholder engagement skills with issuers, investors, and internal partners
Demonstrated adherence to best practices, policies, and quality standards
Demonstrates growing awareness of AI risk management principles and a commitment to responsible and ethical AI usage
Education
Graduate or second-level degree required (e.g., MBA, Master's) or equivalent strong academic background
Responsibilities
The Ratings Manager at Moody's Local Chile leads a team of analysts responsible for assigning domestic ratings and delivering high-quality research across a complex and dynamic portfolio of Chilean credits.
Provide direct management of lead analysts and indirect management of associates, fostering a culture of excellence, accountability, and continuous development
Manage rating quality and consistency across the assigned portfolio, including addressing credit issues in a timely and consistent manner and ensuring high-quality ratings output
Oversee ongoing monitoring of the portfolio to ensure ratings are reviewed and moved at appropriate times in accordance with relevant Moody's methodology
Develop and implement research and outreach plans with teams; oversee and manage the quality, quantity, and relevance of research while ensuring timely execution
Establish and communicate strategic direction for the team in alignment with business goals and franchise objectives
Implement periodic objectives for the team and franchise; monitor achievement, provide guidance, and present results to senior management
Manage staff resources through portfolio allocation; review portfolio responsibilities periodically and present potential changes to management
Support analyst development through training, recruiting, retention, and career advancement initiatives; identify and position marquee analysts and future managers
Implement the annual communications plan and foster open, productive lines of communication with Credit Policy and internal stakeholders
Serve as a recognized authority with issuers and investors at the individual credit, industry, and country levels
Demonstrate strong adherence to Moody's best practices and policies at all times
