At Moody's, we unite the brightest minds to turn today’s risks into tomorrow’s opportunities. We do this by striving to create an inclusive environment where everyone feels welcome to be who they are—with the freedom to exchange ideas, think innovatively, and listen to each other and customers in meaningful ways. Moody’s is transforming how the world sees risk. As a global leader in ratings and integrated risk assessment, we’re advancing AI to move from insight to action—enabling intelligence that not only understands complexity but responds to it. We decode risk to unlock opportunity, helping our clients navigate uncertainty with clarity, speed, and confidence.
If you are excited about this opportunity but do not meet every single requirement, please apply! You still may be a great fit for this role or other open roles. We are seeking candidates who model our values: invest in every relationship, lead with curiosity, champion diverse perspectives, turn inputs into actions, and uphold trust through integrity.
- 7-10 years of professional writing experience in corporate communications, journalism, speechwriting, or a related field
- Demonstrated ability to write across multiple executive voices simultaneously while maintaining each leader's distinct positioning and tone
- Strong research and industry monitoring skills, with the ability to proactively identify speaking, media, and thought leadership opportunities
- Genuine curiosity about markets, credit, regulation, and the sectors Moody's serves, with the initiative to surface opportunities rather than simply execute assignments
- Proven ability to draft and edit quickly and accurately under deadline pressure, including on sensitive or fast-moving topics
- Experience collaborating cross-functionally with executive teams, communications colleagues, investor relations, and business stakeholders to deliver accurate and aligned content
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple concurrent writing and research assignments at a high bar for quality
- Basic understanding of artificial intelligence concepts, with curiosity and enthusiasm for learning how AI tools can be used to improve processes and drive efficiency. Interest in exploring AI systems and a willingness to develop awareness of responsible AI practices, including risk management and ethical use
- Bachelor's degree in Journalism, English, Communications, or a related field
- Build and maintain a deep understanding of each executive's strategic priorities, established voice, and narrative positioning to ensure all communications are consistent, purposeful, and on-brand, while keeping files, systems, relevant recordings and version histories organized and accessible to support consistency and future content development
- Monitor industry news, market developments, and competitor activity to proactively surface relevant speaking, media, and thought leadership opportunities for each executive
- Draft executive communications — including remarks, talking points, op-eds, briefing materials, and written commentary — working across three distinct executive voices from established voice guidance
- Write and edit enterprise content supporting Moody's brand, reputation, and thought leadership, including award submissions, leadership bylines, and recognition campaigns
- Support crisis and routine corporate communications with fast, accurate drafting under tight deadlines
- Partner with colleagues across MCO Reputation, Corporate Affairs, and each executive's team — including Chiefs of Staff, Investor Relations, and business partners — to keep content accurate, timely, and strategically aligned
- Track opportunity pipelines and engagement outcomes to help refine communications strategy over time
- Manage multiple concurrent writing and research assignments with a high bar for quality and fast turnaround
