At Moody's, we unite the brightest minds to turn today’s risks into tomorrow’s opportunities. We do this by striving to create an inclusive environment where everyone feels welcome to be who they are—with the freedom to exchange ideas, think innovatively, and listen to each other and customers in meaningful ways. Moody’s is transforming how the world sees risk. As a global leader in ratings and integrated risk assessment, we’re advancing AI to move from insight to action—enabling intelligence that not only understands complexity but responds to it. We decode risk to unlock opportunity, helping our clients navigate uncertainty with clarity, speed, and confidence.

If you are excited about this opportunity but do not meet every single requirement, please apply! You still may be a great fit for this role or other open roles. We are seeking candidates who model our values: invest in every relationship, lead with curiosity, champion diverse perspectives, turn inputs into actions, and uphold trust through integrity.

Skills and Competencies
  • 10+ years of experience delivering finance business, data, and technology solutions across key financial domains, including accounting, close and consolidation, FP&A, management reporting, revenue, expense management, treasury, and/or financial analytics in a SOX environment, with a proven track record of translating business needs into scalable solutions and leading design, delivery, and adoption
  • Exposure to enterprise Finance and data platforms (e.g., Microsoft Fabric, Salesforce, SAP, AWS)
  • Excellent executive communication and people-leadership experience to lead a small team of data strategists
  • Working knowledge of SQL, Python, or similar querying and scripting tools to support data analysis, validation, troubleshooting, and rapid prototyping, with the ability to leverage data in support of business analysis, solution design, and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Experience using AI-assisted development tools (such as Claude and Microsoft Copilot) to rapidly prototype and convert ambiguous problems into build-ready specifications
  • Demonstrated proficiency in artificial intelligence concepts, with hands-on experience using AI tools to streamline workflows and enhance operational efficiency. Proven ability to implement AI-powered solutions to solve business challenges. Demonstrates a growing awareness of AI risk management and a commitment to responsible and ethical AI use
  • Experience with ERP order-to-cash system implementations preferred, with SAP experience strongly desired
Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Management Information Systems, Data Analytics, or a related field; Master's degree preferred
Responsibilities
Drives Finance data strategy by bridging senior leadership and delivery teams to produce high-impact data products and roadmap outcomes.
  • Set direction and own delivery outcomes for Finance data products, partnering with engineering, analytics, and automation teams to deliver solutions end-to-end—defining what success looks like and driving toward it, not just documenting requirements
  • Own and evolve the strategic data roadmap for Finance, sequencing priorities, aligning delivery to stakeholder outcomes, and serving as a trusted advisor to senior Finance leadership by building alignment across competing needs and setting the agenda for how initiatives are scoped and delivered
  • Lead solution design from problem to engineering-ready specification, authoring Business Requirements Documents (BRDs) and Functional Design Documents (FDDs), proposing concrete data models and structures, and owning quality assurance (QA) and validation to ensure what ships matches the intended outcome
  • Operate with significant autonomy and influence across Finance leadership while remaining deeply hands-on — rapidly prototyping solutions using SQL, Python, and AI-assisted tools, grounded in deep finance domain expertise and investigation across the Finance data stack
  • Act as the data strategy lead and representative on Finance's key strategic programs, driving solution recommendations and roadmap decisions that shape investment and prioritization, while building and developing a small team of data strategists and business analysts who provide domain-aligned coverage across Finance
