Skills and Competencies
- Strong programming skills in one or more languages such as Python, C++, C#, or Java, with the ability to design, develop, test, and maintain high-quality software solutions
- Solid understanding of software development principles and agile methodologies
- Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities, with the capability to investigate complex technical challenges, identify root causes, and implement effective, scalable solutions
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with experience collaborating effectively across global, cross-functional teams including product management, actuarial, engineering, and quality assurance stakeholders
- Interest or experience in financial modelling, actuarial science, quantitative analysis, or the insurance industry is highly desirable and will support success in understanding customer needs and product requirements
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a high level of accuracy, quality, and attention to detail across competing deadlines and deliverables
- Demonstrated curiosity and enthusiasm for learning new technologies, development tools, and industry trends, with a proactive approach to continuous improvement and professional growth
- Basic understanding of artificial intelligence concepts, with curiosity and enthusiasm for learning how AI tools can be used to improve processes and drive efficiency. Interest in exploring AI systems and a willingness to develop awareness of responsible AI practices, including risk management and ethical use.
Education
- Undergraduate degree in Computer Science
Responsibilities
- Develop and support innovative software solutions that advance life actuarial modelling products for the insurance industry
- Develop and maintain software products within an agile Scrum team, delivering regular releases to a large customer base
- Enhance existing functionality and contribute to the design and implementation of new features and products
- Collaborate with actuaries, product managers, and engineering teams to integrate and evolve actuarial modelling capabilities across the product suite
- Continuously improve development processes and tools to enhance quality and efficiency
- Proactively research, experiment with, and upskill in new tools and technologies, applying what's learned to advance both personal development and business priorities.
About the Team
Our Insurance team is responsible for developing and supporting software solutions that enable insurers to assess risk, model financial outcomes, and make informed decisions. By joining our team, you will contribute to exciting work in actuarial modelling, cloud-based application development, responsible adoption of artificial intelligence tools, and cross-functional collaboration with actuarial, engineering, and product teams across global locations.
