Skills and Competencies
- We are seeking an experienced professional to serve as an Industry Practice Lead (IPL) focused on Private Credit and Alternative Investments. The ideal candidate will bring deep, practitioner-led expertise across private credit markets. This expertise should include a comprehensive understanding of private credit investment workflows, operating models, fund structures, and risk management practices, as well as how data, analytics, and technology are applied across these processes.
- Minimum 10+ years of experience in private credit, alternative investments, or asset management, with exposure to direct lending, opportunistic credit, or structured credit. Strong understanding of private credit operating models, investment lifecycle workflows, and supporting technology ecosystems.
- Direct experience within an investment, risk, portfolio management, product strategy, or business development function, in particular advising on transformational initiatives
- Experience engaging with senior stakeholders including portfolio managers, CIOs, risk leaders, and executive committees
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to translate complex concepts into clear, client-relevant messaging
- Familiarity with platforms such as Aladdin, eFront, or similar private markets systems is a plus
- Experience operating in cross-functional and highly collaborative environments
- Ability to travel up to 50% (required)
Education
- Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred
- CFA Charterholder status strongly preferred
Responsibilities
In this role, you will be responsible for establishing credibility and confidence in Moody’s products with prospective clients through sales engagement, industry thought leadership, and domain expertise. You will identify client needs and lead solution alignment and architecture discussions, ensuring Moody’s offerings are positioned effectively within client workflows. Your client base will primarily consist of asset managers and pension funds. You will also work closely with internal partners to define Moody’s value proposition, support go-to-market execution (including internal enablement) and contribute to product development and strategic direction.
- Driving Sales and Customer Engagement: Act as a trusted advisor to clients and prospects, translating private market workflows (origination, underwriting, monitoring, reporting) into solution-oriented discussions. Apply industry best practices and expertise to elevate the impact of our customer engagement, including proposals and proofs of concept. Design, build, and execute market outreach strategies in partnership marketing and strategy teams.
- Industry Engagement and Thought Leadership: Develop and maintain relationships with stakeholders across the private credit and alternative investment ecosystem. Represent Moody’s at industry events, client forums, and executive discussions. Produce and contribute to thought leadership aligned to client priorities and Moody’s product suite while maintaining social media engagement.
- Market Feedback for Product Development: Translate emerging market trends, regulatory developments, and client needs into product requirements Identify whitespace opportunities to enhance Moody’s solutions within private markets workflows. Support the development of business cases for product enhancement and innovation.
- Internal Education and Enablement: Deliver training on client use cases, workflows, personas, and market dynamics to sales, customer success, and strategy teams. Strengthen internal understanding of the private credit market and its key players.
- Artificial Intelligence: Basic understanding of artificial intelligence concepts, with curiosity and enthusiasm for learning how AI tools can be used to improve processes and drive efficiency. Interest in exploring AI systems and awareness of responsible AI practices, including risk management and ethical use.
About the Team
The Global Sales operating unit is comprised of over 1,000 sales and customer service professionals serving customers across the private and public sector globally. The Industry Practice Group consists of senior domain experts with backgrounds in industry, consulting, regulatory, and other practitioners.
For US-based roles only: the anticipated hiring base salary range for this position is $198,300.00 - $287,550.00, depending on factors such as experience, education, level, skills, and location. This range is based on a full-time position. In addition to base salary, this role is eligible for incentive compensation. Moody’s also offers a competitive benefits package, including not but limited to medical, dental, vision, parental leave, paid time off, a 401(k) plan with employee and company contribution opportunities, life, disability, and accident insurance, a discounted employee stock purchase plan, and tuition reimbursement.
