Skills and Competencies

  • 7+ years of experience in insurance, insurance technology, data and analytics, solution consulting, underwriting, or business-to-business sales, with a focus on property and casualty insurance
  • Preferred working knowledge of Casualty and Financial Lines workflows, including risk selection, underwriting, pricing, portfolio management, exposure assessment, claims analysis, and risk monitoring
  • Preferred understanding of key Casualty and Financial Lines segments, such as general liability, professional liability, directors and officers liability, errors and omissions, cyber, and other specialty lines
  • Preferred experience working with insurers, reinsurers, brokers, MGAs, MGUs, or other participants across the insurance value chain
  • Proven ability to translate complex data, analytics, models, and software capabilities into clear business value for underwriting, actuarial, portfolio management, claims, and executive stakeholders
  • Ability to conduct effective client discovery and deliver detailed, workflow-based product demonstrations to technical and non-technical audiences
  • Demonstrated experience applying consultative selling methodologies to identify client challenges, map existing workflows, and position tailored solutions
  • Basic understanding of artificial intelligence concepts, with curiosity and enthusiasm for how AI-enabled capabilities can support underwriting workflows, improve decision-making and efficiency, and promote responsible AI practices

Education

  • Undergraduate or first-level degree, such as a Bachelor’s degree, preferred, with coursework in business, insurance, risk management, actuarial science, economics, finance, data analytics, or a related field
  • Relevant insurance or professional qualifications are beneficial but not required

Responsibilities

This role partners closely with sales colleagues and cross-functional stakeholders to support the end-to-end sales process for Moody’s Casualty and Financial Lines data, analytics, models, and software solutions. The Workflow Specialist will bring insurance market and workflow expertise to client engagements, helping customers understand how Moody’s capabilities can address their underwriting, pricing, portfolio management, and risk assessment needs. Key responsibilities include:

  • Serve as the Casualty and Financial Lines workflow subject matter expert throughout the sales lifecycle, from initial discovery and qualification through solution design, demonstration, proposal development, and deal closure
  • Lead detailed client discovery sessions to understand existing underwriting processes, data requirements, technology environments, business priorities, and operational challenges
  • Assess client needs and provide tailored strategic guidance, solution positioning, and value-based recommendations aligned with underwriting, portfolio, and organisational objectives
  • Design and deliver client-specific demonstrations, presentations, workshops, and proof-of-concept engagements that connect Moody’s capabilities to real-world insurance workflows
  • Develop trusted relationships with underwriting, actuarial, portfolio management, claims, data science, technology, operations, and executive stakeholders
  • Partner with sales colleagues to develop account strategies, qualify opportunities, identify stakeholder priorities, and advance complex sales engagements
  • Collaborate with Product, Strategy, Modelling, Delivery, and Customer Success teams to ensure proposed solutions are credible, relevant, and aligned with client requirements
  • Provide structured feedback on market trends, client requirements, competitive positioning, product gaps, and emerging use cases, while identifying cross-sell and upsell opportunities across Moody’s insurance solutions portfolio
  • This position offers a dynamic work environment, requiring up to 50% travel to engage with clients face-to-face, while also providing the flexibility of hybrid working

About the Team

The Insurance Sales team drives the growth of Moody’s by delivering integrated, high-impact solutions that support insurers across underwriting, pricing, reserving, capital management, portfolio management, and risk analytics. The Casualty & Financial Lines Workflow Specialist team plays a critical role within the Insurance segment, partnering closely with Sales, Product, Strategy, Modelling, Delivery, and Customer Success teams to bring the full strength of Moody’s data, analytics, models, and software capabilities to insurance clients. The team combines deep insurance workflow knowledge with strong commercial and technical expertise. Workflow Specialists help clients connect Moody’s capabilities to practical business challenges, shape tailored solution strategies, and support the successful adoption of solutions across Casualty and Financial Lines underwriting workflows.
