Skills and Competencies

• Kubernetes & container orchestration: 2+ years of hands-on experience with Kubernetes, specifically Amazon Elastic Kubernetes Service (EKS), including cluster security and high availability. 
• Amazon Web Services (AWS) cloud services: strong experience with serverless technologies (AWS Lambda, API Gateway, EventBridge, Step Functions) and core services (Identity and Access Management (IAM), Virtual Private Cloud (VPC), Simple Storage Service (S3), Relational Database Service (RDS), CloudWatch). 
• Infrastructure as Code: 2+ years of experience using Terraform to provision and manage multi-environment cloud infrastructure. 
• Continuous Integration / Continuous Delivery (CI/CD): proficiency with GitHub Actions, GitHub workflows, and Git-based development practices; experience implementing GitOps deployment patterns is preferred. 
• Observability & operations: experience implementing monitoring, logging, and alerting with tools such as Amazon CloudWatch, Prometheus, Grafana, and Elastic (ELK) stack; strong troubleshooting skills for production environments. 
• Security & compliance: knowledge of networking concepts, secrets management, secure configuration practices, and risk-based controls in cloud environments. 
• Artificial intelligence (AI) awareness: basic understanding of AI concepts, curiosity about how AI tools can improve processes and efficiency, and willingness to develop awareness of responsible AI practices (risk management and ethical use). 

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience. 

Responsibilities 

• Design, automate, and operate secure cloud platforms and CI/CD pipelines to enable reliable, scalable delivery of cloud-native applications. 
• Design, deploy, and manage Amazon EKS clusters, including networking, scaling, security hardening, and high availability patterns. 
• Architect and implement AWS serverless solutions using AWS Lambda, API Gateway, EventBridge, Step Functions, and related managed services. 
• Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) in Terraform to support repeatable, multi-environment deployments and governed change. 
• Design, implement, and improve CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions and GitHub workflows, including quality gates and automated approvals where appropriate. 
• Implement GitOps practices for infrastructure and application delivery (for example, using tools such as Argo CD), improving auditability and deployment consistency. 
• Implement monitoring, logging, and alerting across platforms using Amazon CloudWatch, Prometheus, Grafana, and Elastic (ELK) stack; define service-level indicators and alerting standards. 
• Troubleshoot complex production issues, lead incident response activities, perform root cause analysis, and drive preventive remediation. 
• Own secrets management, configuration management, and security compliance controls aligned to cloud best practices. 
• Partner with software engineering teams to improve deployment reliability, performance, and developer experience. 
• Create and maintain technical documentation, runbooks, and architecture diagrams; contribute to continuous improvement of operational procedures. 
• Participate in on-call rotations and disaster recovery planning, ensuring resiliency and operational readiness.
