Skills and Competencies
  • 5+ years of experience in a client-facing role within the financial services, information services, or data analytics industries, preferably with exposure to software as a service solutions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders throughout the sales cycle.
  • Strong commercial mindset and sales mentality, with the ability to lead sales calls, align solutions to client needs, and drive the pre-sales process to win new customers.
  • Proven ability to analyze business processes and workflows to identify client pain points and map Moody’s solutions to specific challenges.
  • Experience supporting complex sales cycles and technical sales of data and SaaS solutions, including participation in proof-of-concepts, demos, and evaluations.
  • Interest in or experience with Trade Credit, Supplier Risk, Third-Party Risk Management (TPRM), Master Data Management (MDM), or Sales and Marketing use cases.
  • Interest in or experience with technologies such as Spark, SQL, or Python.
  • Basic understanding of artificial intelligence concepts, with curiosity and enthusiasm for learning how AI tools can be used to improve processes and drive efficiency. Interest in exploring AI systems and a willingness to develop awareness of responsible AI practices, including risk management and ethical use.
Education
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Computer Science, or a related field is a plus.
Responsibilities
This role partners closely with sales and product teams to lead technical pre-sales activities, align solutions to client needs, and clearly articulate the value of Moody’s offerings throughout the sales cycle.
  • Drive the pre-sales process with a focus on solution alignment through product demonstrations and proof-of-concepts.
  • Support sales colleagues throughout the pre-sales lifecycle, from qualification through solution alignment.
  • Conduct in-depth analyses of client workflows, processes, and business requirements to identify pain points and opportunities for improvement.
  • Map Moody’s solutions to client needs, ensuring a strong understanding of how products address specific business challenges.
  • Demonstrate the value of Moody’s solutions through demos, proof-of-concepts, trial evaluations, and data analysis.
  • Collaborate closely with product and technical teams to understand solution architecture and capabilities and support effective solution design.
  • Ensure seamless integration and connectivity across Moody’s products to deliver a cohesive client experience.
  • Act as a bridge between clients and product development teams by conveying client feedback and insights to support product enhancement and innovation.
  • Travel up to 30% to support client and sales engagements.
About the Team
The Insurance Solutions Specialist team is a global, client-facing technical pre-sales group that partners closely with insurance sales teams to support the positioning and sale of advanced analytical and modeling solutions. The team brings deep domain and technical expertise to help clients understand complex risk topics, evaluate solution fit, and make informed decisions throughout the sales cycle.

For US-based roles only: the anticipated hiring base salary range for this position is $98,800.00 - $143,350.00, depending on factors such as experience, education, level, skills, and location. This range is based on a full-time position. In addition to base salary, this role is eligible for incentive compensation. Moody’s also offers a competitive benefits package, including not but limited to medical, dental, vision, parental leave, paid time off, a 401(k) plan with employee and company contribution opportunities, life, disability, and accident insurance, a discounted employee stock purchase plan, and tuition reimbursement.
