Skills and Competencies

  • Experience or coursework in data and analytics tools such as Databricks, SQL, Python, Power BI, Excel, Jira, and Confluence, coupled with a strong interest in data, analytics, and using data-driven insights to solve business problems
  • Ability to research, synthesize, organize, and document technical information in a clear, accurate, and concise manner, adapting communication to different audiences
  • Understanding of data management, data quality, governance, reporting, business analysis, and process improvement principles
  • Experience or exposure to requirements gathering, stakeholder engagement, Agile delivery, testing/UAT, or operational improvement initiatives
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills, with excellent attention to detail
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and working knowledge of SQL for data analysis, validation, and comparison
  • Basic understanding of artificial intelligence concepts, with curiosity and enthusiasm for learning how AI tools can be used to improve processes and drive efficiency. Interest in exploring AI systems and a willingness to develop awareness of responsible AI practices, including risk management and ethical use
  • Curious and learning-oriented mindset, with the confidence to ask questions, challenge assumptions, explore new ideas, step outside your comfort zone, and continuously learn from others

Education

  • Currently pursuing a Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science, Business Analytics, Operations Research, Business Engineering, Information Systems, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field
  • Ability to complete a 3-month internship, with the possibility of extension, and availability to start as soon as possible

Responsibilities

Analyze data, develop technical documentation, and support data quality, governance, and process improvement initiatives:

  • Create and maintain clear, accurate, and well-structured technical and business documentation, including methodologies, business rules, requirements, process flows, user guides, and knowledge articles
  • Research, analyze, and synthesize information from multiple sources to support documentation, decision-making, and project delivery
  • Support data quality, data governance, reporting, and data management initiatives through data analysis, validation, testing, and issue investigation
  • Collaborate with business and technical stakeholders to gather requirements, document processes, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives
  • Assist in the design and validation of KPIs, dashboards, metrics, and reporting solutions
  • Explore opportunities to leverage analytics, automation, and AI to improve processes, efficiency, and data quality outcomes
  • Continuously learn about Company Data products, processes, technologies, and industry best practices while contributing ideas and challenging existing approaches

Our Company Data team is responsible for managing and enhancing Moody's company data assets to ensure they are accurate, reliable, and fit for purpose. We contribute to Moody's by driving data quality and governance, developing scalable data management frameworks and reporting solutions, and supporting business and product teams with trusted data and insights.
