At Moody's, we unite the brightest minds to turn today’s risks into tomorrow’s opportunities. We do this by striving to create an inclusive environment where everyone feels welcome to be who they are—with the freedom to exchange ideas, think innovatively, and listen to each other and customers in meaningful ways. Moody’s is transforming how the world sees risk. As a global leader in ratings and integrated risk assessment, we’re advancing AI to move from insight to action—enabling intelligence that not only understands complexity but responds to it. We decode risk to unlock opportunity, helping our clients navigate uncertainty with clarity, speed, and confidence.

If you are excited about this opportunity but do not meet every single requirement, please apply! You still may be a great fit for this role or other open roles. We are seeking candidates who model our values: invest in every relationship, lead with curiosity, champion diverse perspectives, turn inputs into actions, and uphold trust through integrity.

Skills and Competencies
  • Deep understanding of banking workflows and the operating economics behind them, in areas such as commercial lending, credit risk, financial crime and compliance, or portfolio monitoring—who does the work, what it costs, and what a bank values when it is done well
  • Direct experience in at least one AI-driven transformation, at a bank or at a provider serving banks, with a practical view of what a successful outcome looks like, what drives adoption, and what stalls it
  • Demonstrated ability to design and quantify commercial models, including usage-based, value-based, or outcome-based constructs, and to build the business case across client value, cost to serve, margin, and risk
  • Strong strategy toolkit: structuring ambiguous problems, hypothesis-led analysis, and decision-oriented documents that move senior leaders from debate to commitment
  • Excellent stakeholder management and facilitation skills, with a track record of influencing without direct authority across product, data, commercial, and client-facing teams
  • Ability to assess capability gaps and evaluate build, buy, and partner options; exposure to partnership structuring or commercial due diligence is a plus
  • Working knowledge of model risk, auditability, and governance expectations in regulated financial institutions, and how they shape autonomous and agentic delivery
  • Demonstrated proficiency in artificial intelligence concepts, with hands-on experience using AI tools to streamline workflows and enhance operational efficiency. Proven ability to implement AI-powered solutions to solve business challenges. Demonstrates a growing awareness of AI risk management and a commitment to responsible and ethical AI use
Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business, Engineering, or a related field required
  • Advanced degree (MBA or equivalent) preferred
Responsibilities
The Director, Commercial Strategy – Outcome-Based Offerings defines how Moody's Analytics Banking designs, prices, and delivers offerings that are paid on the outcomes they produce for clients.
  • Define the outcome-based offering strategy for Banking: which client workflows, which outcomes, for which customer segments, and in what sequence
  • Establish what an outcome is worth to a bank—in labor, cycle time, and quality—and translate that into the value basis for pricing, in partnership with Central Product Strategy and consistent with Moody's Analytics pricing standards
  • Design the commercial model for outcome-based delivery, including contract structures, service levels, quality standards, measurement and attribution, and how Moody's stands behind the results it delivers
  • Map the capabilities required to deliver outcomes at scale—data, models, agentic execution and controls, delivery capacity, client engagement—and recommend build, buy, or partner paths for each, feeding the Banking partnerships and acquisitions agenda
  • Forge consensus and momentum across Data Estate, DC&I, Central Product Strategy, Banking Product, Banking Advisory, and Banking Customer Engagement through business cases, decision documents, and governance forums
  • Partner with Product and Customer Engagement to shape the first outcome-based client engagements, define how success is measured, and turn what is learned into the standard model
  • Track how competitors, platforms, and AI-native providers price and deliver outcomes in banking, and translate the findings into implications for offering, pricing, and investment decisions
  • Communicate strategy and recommendations to Banking and Moody's Analytics leadership in a clear, decision-oriented form
