Skills and Competencies

  • Accounting knowledge with a strong focus on financial analysis (e.g. through coursework, CFA or equivalent), or relevant work experience is preferred
  • 1–2 years relevant experience working in the financial sector or audit/consulting firms preferred; experience in infrastructure and/or project finance will be advantageous
  • Solid verbal, written communication and interpersonal skills
  • Enjoys engaging in team work with a positive and constructive attitude
  • Strong organizational skills, a high sense of ownership, ability to prioritize tasks and attention to detail
  • Proficient in MS Excel, Word and PowerPoint
  • Demonstrated familiarity with Generative AI tools (e.g., LLMs like ChatGPT) and Agentic AI systems (e.g., autonomous agents or multi-agent frameworks), including practical experience leveraging these technologies for research, analysis, or workflow optimization
  • Knowledge of other Asian languages will be a bonus

Education

  • Minimum undergraduate/first-level degree (e.g. Bachelor’s Degree, or equivalent qualifications) with a strong academic record; finance or accounting background preferred
  • Postgraduate qualifications (Master’s, MBA) and professional certifications such as CPA or CFA will be a bonus

Responsibilties

As a Ratings Associate, you will collaborate closely with Lead Analysts as part of a global team, supporting the assignment and monitoring of credit ratings while contributing to rigorous credit risk assessment and analysis.

  • Support Lead Analysts on work related to credit ratings, research, and market outreach
  • Leverage digital tools and AI-driven solutions to enhance analytical capabilities, improve efficiency, and focus on solving complex, high-value challenges
  • Analyze data and financial documents, and prepare and run financial models and forecasts
  • Draft rating committee memos; attend and participate in rating committee meetings
  • Draft and support the publication of credit research reports
  • Monitor market developments and news to assess credit quality and industry trends
  • Attend investor and issuer meetings as required and help prepare presentations
  • Continuously develop professional skills through training programs and hands-on experience
  • Build knowledge across sustainability, cyber risk, private credit, and local financial markets

About the Team

The Ratings & Research Support (RRS) team at Moody’s plays a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of the ratings and research process while supporting multiple analytical departments. Ratings Associates work closely with Credit Rating Analysts to ensure that tasks related to credit ratings, research, and market outreach are completed efficiently and effectively. The team is essential to maintaining the overall productivity, accuracy, and organization of the ratings process, supporting the broader analytical organization by ensuring all analytical needs are met in a timely and reliable manner.
