Skills & Competencies 

  •  4-6 years of experience in data, analytics, or technical business roles 
  • Experience working with REST APIs to extract and analyze data from SaaS platforms 
  • Working knowledge of Python or SQL for data manipulation (basic proficiency is sufficient) 
  • Experience building dashboards (Power BI or similar) to visualize usage and cost data 
  • Strong analytical mindset with ability to translate data into actionable insights for business stakeholders 
  • Exposure to SaaS, software licensing, FinOps, or cost optimization concepts, or demonstrated ability to quickly learn in this space 
  • Familiarity with cloud/data tools (e.g., Microsoft Fabric, Databricks) or similar platforms is a plus 
  • Basic understanding of AI concepts with curiosity to learn how AI tools drive efficiency, along with an interest in responsible and ethical AI use 

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, Business, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field 
  • Preferred: FinOps certification in FinOps for AI 

Responsibilities

Support enterprise software and AI tooling license governance by building data-driven visibility into usage, cost, and renewals across a complex and rapidly evolving SaaS portfolio.

  • Analyze SaaS and AI tool usage data by connecting to vendor APIs and internal systems 
  • Build and maintain dashboards tracking usage, cost, and trends 
  • Partner with Finance and Technology teams to identify cost optimization opportunities 
  • Support maintenance of software inventory and renewal tracking 
  • Assist in developing data pipelines and reporting workflows for spend visibility 
  • Contribute to governance and reporting for emerging AI tools 
About the Team
This role sits within the FinOps & Technology Finance function, partnering closely with technology, finance, and engineering stakeholders across the organization. The team focuses on driving cost transparency, governance, and optimization across enterprise software and emerging AI tooling, enabling the business to scale responsibly while maximizing value from its technology investments.

For US-based roles only: the anticipated hiring base salary range for this position is $99,200.00 - $143,900.00, depending on factors such as experience, education, level, skills, and location. This range is based on a full-time position. In addition to base salary, this role is eligible for incentive compensation. Moody’s also offers a competitive benefits package, including not but limited to medical, dental, vision, parental leave, paid time off, a 401(k) plan with employee and company contribution opportunities, life, disability, and accident insurance, a discounted employee stock purchase plan, and tuition reimbursement.
