- 15+ years of software engineering and technology experience, including significant experience leading technology managers, senior engineers, and multidisciplinary teams in a complex global organization.
- Proven success defining and executing strategies for enterprise tooling, internal platforms, workflow applications, or operational software used by business and data operations teams.
- Strong architecture and engineering judgment across modern full-stack web development, including responsive user interfaces, APIs, services, distributed systems, cloud platforms, data integration, and secure software delivery.
- Hands-on understanding of applications that enable users to source, manage, review, validate, remediate, enrich, and monitor data. A knowledge of operational controls with a particular emphasis on creating data that is usable, high quality, and stands up to audit.
- Demonstrated ability to modernize fragmented or legacy application portfolios through platform consolidation that leverages reusable components.
- Deep understanding of the product development life cycle, agile delivery, DevOps, automated testing, observability, security, reliability, and production support.
- Demonstrated proficiency in artificial intelligence concepts, with hands-on experience using AI tools to streamline workflows and enhance operational efficiency. Proven ability to implement AI-powered solutions to solve business challenges. Demonstrates a growing awareness of AI risk management and a commitment to responsible and ethical AI use.
- Familiarity with AI engineering principles and agentic system design, including the ability to architect secure, scalable, and governed AI agents and workflows that maximize the responsible use of AI across the end-to-end Data journey.
- Experience establishing engineering standards, architecture guardrails, quality metrics, delivery measures, and platform adoption indicators that improve speed without compromising reliability or control.
- Strong customer and product mindset, with the ability to partner closely with our product teams and convert the needs of our Data Domains into a prioritized roadmap that achieves broad adoption and measurable business outcomes.
- Excellent organizational leadership, talent development, hiring, coaching, and stakeholder management skills. This job requires regular interaction and collaboration with other senior stakeholders; clear and credible communication are essential for delivering successful outcomes.
- Creative, action-oriented leadership style, with the ability to navigate ambiguity, make sound tradeoffs, create clarity, and drive transformation at pace and scale.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Equivalent relevant professional experience will be considered in accordance with Moody's hiring practices.
- Lead the Data Estate Tooling Platform organization, establishing a clear mission, operating model, portfolio, and roadmap aligned to Data Estate priorities.
- Define and deliver a unified platform for data management and operational workflows, reducing fragmentation and enabling reusable capabilities and consistent user experiences across domains.
- Build modern full-stack applications that enable operations teams to source, validate, review, reconcile, remediate, enrich, approve, and monitor data with greater speed, quality, transparency, and control. Exercise independent judgment in determining which capabilities should be developed as centrally managed, reusable platform services and which should be delivered as targeted solutions to address immediate needs and generate rapid value.
- Modernize the existing tooling estate through deliberate consolidation, re-platforming, and retirement decisions while protecting the stability of critical workflows.
- Create a product-oriented engineering culture in which teams own user outcomes, reliability, quality, adoption, and continuous improvement. This is a lean team that must operate in a modern AI first mindset, requiring a leader that challenges some of the established norms of a legacy PDLC process.
- Define platform architecture, service boundaries, integration patterns, engineering standards, and controls in partnership with Data Engineering, Architecture, DevOps, Security, and QA Engineering.
- Ensure solutions are secure, resilient, observable, supportable, and compliant with enterprise standards, with automated testing and quality controls embedded throughout delivery.
- Recruit, develop, and retain a high-performing global organization; coach engineering managers and senior technical leaders; build strong succession, software engineering, product, and AI capabilities.
