- 12+ years of progressive sales leadership experience within a software, data, analytics, financial services, or professional services organization, with a demonstrated track record of leading large-scale sales organizations, driving revenue growth, and expanding market presence within government and public sector markets
- Deep understanding of government and public sector organizations across the Americas, including federal, state, provincial, and local agencies, with knowledge of procurement processes, contracting vehicles, budgeting cycles, regulatory requirements, security considerations, and public sector business drivers
- Proven ability to develop and execute segment-level growth strategies that align with organizational objectives, increase market share, accelerate revenue growth, and deliver sustainable business results across diverse government customer segments
- Experience selling enterprise software, data, analytics, research, risk management, financial solutions, or related services to government organizations, with experience supporting Defense and Intelligence customers preferred
- Demonstrated success building executive-level relationships with senior government leaders, influencing complex buying decisions, and navigating multi-stakeholder sales environments through a consultative and customer-centric approach
- Experience developing and managing strategic channel, alliance, and partner relationships that expand market reach, strengthen customer engagement, and drive incremental growth across public sector markets
- Strong leadership, communication, negotiation, and business planning capabilities, supported by expertise in forecasting, territory planning, pipeline management, sales analytics, resource allocation, and performance management
- Demonstrated proficiency in artificial intelligence concepts, with hands-on experience using AI tools to streamline workflows and enhance operational efficiency. Proven ability to implement AI-powered solutions to solve business challenges. Demonstrates a growing awareness of AI risk management and a commitment to responsible and ethical AI use.
- Bachelor’s degree in business, economics, finance, public administration, international relations, or a related field required
- Advanced degree, such as a master’s degree, Master of Business Administration, or equivalent, preferred
- Define and execute the Government segment strategy across the Americas, aligning business priorities, growth initiatives, and go-to-market plans with Moody’s strategic objectives
- Lead and develop a high-performing sales organization focused on serving government and public sector customers while fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, innovation, and customer success
- Own overall segment performance, including revenue growth, business planning, forecasting, pipeline health, resource allocation, and quarterly business reviews
- Drive expansion across federal, state, provincial, and local government markets while identifying new growth opportunities across emerging public sector segments
- Establish and maintain executive relationships with senior government leaders and key stakeholders to position Moody’s as a trusted strategic partner and advisor
- Guide teams through complex procurement, contracting, compliance, regulatory, and security requirements associated with public sector engagements
- Build and expand strategic channel, alliance, and ecosystem partnerships that strengthen market coverage, enhance customer value, and support accelerated growth objectives
- Collaborate with product management, marketing, customer success, legal, compliance, and strategy leaders to optimize go-to-market effectiveness, influence product innovation, improve customer outcomes, and provide executive insight into government trends, customer priorities, competitive dynamics, and emerging opportunities, including select Defense and Intelligence markets
For US-based roles only: the anticipated hiring base salary range for this position is $198,300.00 - $287,550.00, depending on factors such as experience, education, level, skills, and location. This range is based on a full-time position. In addition to base salary, this role is eligible for incentive compensation. Moody’s also offers a competitive benefits package, including not but limited to medical, dental, vision, parental leave, paid time off, a 401(k) plan with employee and company contribution opportunities, life, disability, and accident insurance, a discounted employee stock purchase plan, and tuition reimbursement.
