Skills and Competencies

  • Strong quantitative, structural, and credit analysis skills with deep experience in corporate CLOs and other structured credit transactions
  • Ability to analyze and interpret complex legal and transaction documentation to identify credit strengths, weaknesses, and risk drivers
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present analysis and recommendations to rating committees and external stakeholders
  • Proven experience leading projects, collaborating across teams, and exercising sound judgment in a highly regulated environment
  • Demonstrated proficiency in artificial intelligence concepts, with hands-on experience using AI tools to streamline workflows and enhance operational efficiency. Proven ability to implement AI-powered solutions to solve business challenges. Demonstrates a growing awareness of AI risk management and a commitment to responsible and ethical AI use.

Education

  • MBA, JD, or Master’s degree in Applied Mathematics, Financial Engineering, or a related quantitative field
  • Minimum of 6 years of experience as an analyst or in a related role involving credit analysis of CLOs or other structured credit transactions

Responsibilities

  • This role is responsible for providing in-depth analytical leadership across the quantitative, structural, and legal review of corporate CLO transactions to support high-quality credit ratings and research.
  • Analyze cash flow CLO structures and transaction documentation to determine credit risk and support rating outcomes
  • Prepare rating committee memoranda and present clear, well-supported rating recommendations to rating committees
  • Conduct legal analysis of CLO transactions and asset-level documentation to assess credit impact and structural protections
  • Communicate effectively with arrangers, issuers, investors, and external legal experts throughout the rating process
  • Author publishable research, including transaction reports and industry articles, and deliver external presentations as required
  • Participate in on-site operational reviews of issuers and contribute to special projects that enhance analytical frameworks and rating processes

About the Team

The Structured Finance Group within Moody’s Ratings is responsible for analyzing and rating a wide range of complex structured credit products, including corporate CLOs. The team combines deep quantitative expertise, legal analysis, and market insight to deliver transparent, high-quality credit opinions to market participants while continuously evolving methodologies and analytical tools to meet changing market dynamics.


For US-based roles only: the anticipated hiring base salary range for this position is $163,300.00 -  $236,800.00, depending on factors such as experience, education, level, skills, and location. This range is based on a full-time position. In addition to base salary, this role is eligible for incentive compensation. Moody’s also offers a competitive benefits package, including not but limited to medical, dental, vision, parental leave, paid time off, a 401(k) plan with employee and company contribution opportunities, life, disability, and accident insurance, a discounted employee stock purchase plan, and tuition reimbursement.
