Skills and Competencies
  • 7–10 years of Legal and Professional Services Sourcing and Category Management experience in large global corporations
  • Demonstrated success leading complex sourcing initiatives and commercial negotiations
  • Proven ability to manage external Legal Services spend and relationships with major law firms
  • Knowledge of alternative legal fee arrangements, legal spend analytics, legal operations, or alternative legal service providers
  • Experience across multiple Professional Services categories such as consulting, accounting, tax, and advisory
  • Strong stakeholder and supplier relationship management skills with a track record of navigating executive-level relationships
  • Curiosity and enthusiasm for learning how AI tools, automation, analytics, and emerging technologies can be applied to analyze trends, forecast demand, model costs from diverse data sources, improve processes, drive efficiency, and deliver strategic insights
  • Strong written and verbal communication, interpersonal skills, and judgment, with the ability to work across regions, manage multiple priorities, and deliver against deadlines
Education
  • Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) from an accredited college or university
Responsibilities
Lead high-visibility sourcing projects across Legal and Professional Services, delivering commercial outcomes that move the business forward.
  • Lead end-to-end sourcing for key supplier agreements across Legal and Non-IT Professional Services categories, including managing strategic sourcing events such as Requests for Proposal, Requests for Information, and targeted negotiations
  • Analyze spend, demand, supplier markets, business requirements, and external market trends to identify strategic opportunities
  • Develop category strategies that address cost optimization, value creation, supplier consolidation, demand management, innovation, risk, and business continuity
  • Execute strategies related to law-firm panels, preferred provider programs, rate structures, alternative fee arrangements, matter management, and appropriate use of alternative legal service providers
  • Lead category planning with the business and establish measurable savings and value-delivery targets
  • Proactively manage the renewal pipeline in collaboration with internal stakeholders
  • Partner cross-functionally with Legal, Finance, and Technology to align sourcing strategy with enterprise priorities
  • Build strong relationships with senior business leaders, report savings metrics, and leverage analytics, automation, and AI to improve sourcing efficiency and decision-making
About the Team
Our Procurement & Sourcing Group (PSG) team is responsible for driving strategic sourcing initiatives and delivering cost optimization across Moody's global operations. By joining our team, you will be part of exciting work in legal and professional services procurement and vendor management, leveraging innovative technologies — including AI — to enhance efficiency and support business transformation.

For US-based roles only: the anticipated hiring base salary range for this position is $119,100 - $196,750.00, depending on factors such as experience, education, level, skills, and location. This range is based on a full-time position. In addition to base salary, this role is eligible for incentive compensation. Moody’s also offers a competitive benefits package, including not but limited to medical, dental, vision, parental leave, paid time off, a 401(k) plan with employee and company contribution opportunities, life, disability, and accident insurance, a discounted employee stock purchase plan, and tuition reimbursement.
