Skills and Competencies
- At least 10 years of experience in the insurance industry with a strong focus on public policy, regulation, or regulatory affairs; experience in catastrophe risk management is preferred
- Demonstrated experience working within a regulated entity, supporting regulated products, or engaging with government, political, or regulatory stakeholders
- Strong understanding of insurance regulation across property and casualty, life, liability, and reinsurance markets, with the ability to assess business impacts of policy developments
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to lead complex analytical projects, draft regulatory submissions, and influence senior stakeholders
- Proven ability to build and maintain trusted relationships with regulators, industry associations, multilateral organizations, and other external stakeholders
- Highly adaptable self-starter with strong problem-solving skills and the ability to navigate ambiguity, manage competing priorities, and deliver results in a fast-paced environment
- Experience collaborating across legal, compliance, risk, communications, and business teams within a global matrixed organization
- Demonstrated proficiency in artificial intelligence concepts, with hands-on experience using AI tools to streamline workflows and enhance operational efficiency. Proven ability to implement AI-powered solutions to solve business challenges. Demonstrates a growing awareness of AI risk management and a commitment to responsible and ethical AI use.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Public Policy, Political Science, Law, Economics, Finance, Insurance, Risk Management, or a related field
- Advanced degree, legal qualification, or relevant professional certification preferred
Responsibilities
Lead regulatory engagement and policy analysis to support Moody’s insurance business growth and strategic objectives across EMEA.
- Analyze and monitor insurance regulatory and public policy developments affecting Moody’s business, clients, and products across EMEA and global markets
- Assess the potential business impact of political, regulatory, and market developments and provide strategic insights to senior stakeholders
- Develop and advocate firm positions on key policy matters through direct engagement with policymakers, regulators, and industry stakeholders
- Draft comment letters, briefing materials, presentations, and other communications that translate complex regulatory issues into actionable insights
- Support strategic growth initiatives, including regulatory analyses related to catastrophe risk models, climate risk solutions, and emerging technologies
- Build and maintain strong relationships with insurance regulators, government bodies, trade associations, and other influential external stakeholders
- Collaborate closely with colleagues across Government, Public and Regulatory Affairs, Legal, Compliance, Risk, Communications, and business teams to ensure coordinated regulatory engagement and messaging
- Identify and execute opportunities to enhance understanding of Moody’s business, thought leadership, and market position among policymakers and regulatory audiences
About the Team
Our Government, Public and Regulatory Affairs team is responsible for advancing Moody’s strategic interests through regulatory engagement, public policy analysis, and government relations. Reporting directly to the Chief Corporate Affairs Officer, the team helps shape regulatory outcomes, supports business growth, strengthens Moody’s reputation with policymakers, and provides insight into geopolitical and regulatory developments across global markets. By joining the team, you will work on high-impact issues affecting the insurance industry, climate and catastrophe risk, financial services regulation, and emerging technologies, while supporting the responsible use and adoption of artificial intelligence across Moody’s businesses and stakeholder engagements.
