Skills and Competencies

• Strong understanding of US GAAP and/or IFRS accounting standards with proven experience preparing and reviewing journal entries, reconciliations, and accruals in a multi-entity environment
• Comprehensive knowledge of Record-to-Report processes, including period-end close, variance analysis, and financial reporting workflows
  Demonstrated ability to advise on accounting treatment for commission plans and information provider royalties, including expense recognition policy and contract review
• Proficiency in accounting and financial reporting software, including enterprise resource planning systems and account reconciliation platforms such as SAP and BlackLine
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to investigate complex variances, form independent conclusions, and communicate findings to senior stakeholders
• Experience identifying and implementing process improvements and automation within accounting or finance functions to reduce manual effort and strengthen controls
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English with demonstrated ability to collaborate across regional and global teams and support senior leadership presentations & demonstrated proficiency in artificial intelligence concepts, with hands-on experience using AI tools to streamline workflows and enhance operational efficiency.
•  Proven ability to implement AI-powered solutions to solve business challenges. Demonstrates a growing awareness of AI risk management and a commitment to responsible and ethical AI use

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required
• 4–6 years of experience in Accounting, Record-to-Report, or Shared Services operations required

Responsibilities

• The Senior Accountant within MA Controllership owns the accurate and timely execution of commission accounting and information provider royalty accruals, partnering closely with global finance teams to deliver reliable financial results.
• Advise on accounting treatment for commission plans, including expense recognition policy, and review new contracts for accounting implications
• Manage the global commission accrual and true-up cycle, including booking journal entries, performing account reconciliations, and analyzing variances between actuals and forecast
• Review and validate information provider setup and maintain the master information provider details file with calculation methodology, royalty rates, and payment terms
  Monitor, book, and adjust automatic and manual information provider accruals, perform quarterly reconciliations, and support variance analysis
• Drive process improvement and automation across commission and information provider accounting workflows, partnering with technology teams to reduce manual effort and strengthen controls
• Serve as the primary point of contact for commission and information provider accrual-related inquiries across Accounting, Financial Planning and Analysis, and Royalties Management teams. Also, perform quarterly financial reporting and coordinate inputs across cross-functional teams to support accurate and timely period-end close
• Support senior leadership presentation materials and discussions by translating complex accounting data into clear, actionable insights
