Skills and Competencies
  • 5+ years of experience in data operations, data management, data quality, data analytics, automation, or related roles, with strong understanding of end-to-end data lifecycle processes
  • Proven people management experience, including leading, coaching, and developing team members while managing workload prioritization, performance, and delivery outcomes
  • Strong SQL expertise with the ability to write, review, and optimize queries for data extraction, transformation, validation, quality checks, and reporting
  • Working knowledge of Python (e.g., Pandas, NumPy) to manipulate, validate, and analyze data in support of operational workflows and automation
  • Hands-on experience with JIRA or similar tools to create, maintain, prioritize, and track work items, risks, dependencies, and delivery status
  • Solid understanding of data quality frameworks including accuracy, completeness, consistency, validation, remediation, deduplication, and issue resolution
  • Knowledge of data operations workflows, data pipelines, ETL processes, data integration, and governance, combined with strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities to identify root causes and drive scalable solutions
  • Exposure to artificial intelligence and Generative AI tools, with the ability to apply AI-driven approaches to enhance data quality, automate processes, improve operational efficiency, and support responsible AI adoption
Education
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Business Administration, Data Management, Data Science, Computer Science, Engineering, Economics, Finance, or a related field
  • Equivalent professional experience in data operations, people leadership, or operational management may also be considered
Responsibilities
The Assistant Director – Data Operations will support initiatives to improve data quality, consistency, and operational reliability while leading team delivery and cross-functional execution.
  • Manage team delivery by assigning priorities, monitoring progress, and ensuring high-quality execution of data-related initiatives
  • Coach and develop team members, supporting performance management and capability building
  • Oversee data remediation, enrichment, and validation workflows to enhance data quality and completeness
  • Ensure disciplined use of JIRA or similar tools to track tasks, dependencies, risks, and overall delivery status
  • Analyze complex data issues, identify patterns and root causes, and implement scalable solutions
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Data, Product, Engineering, Sales, and Governance stakeholders
  • Drive process improvements and automation initiatives leveraging SQL, Python, and AI-driven techniques
  • Maintain strong documentation, governance standards, and operational best practices across workflows
