Skills and Competencies.
- Background in accounting with primary focus in financial analysis (e.g., through coursework, CFA (or equivalent), or relevant work experience 1-2 years).
- Knowledge in Financial Statements.
- Demonstrates basic knowledge of MS Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
- Experience in coding languages (Python, SQL, etc.) is preferred.
- Solid verbal, written communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to adapt to a changing environment and prioritize tasks accordingly.
- High attention to detail.
- Experience working collaboratively on teams through coursework, extracurricular activities, jobs and internships, particularly where leadership or coaching skills were demonstrated
- Basic understanding of artificial intelligence concepts, with curiosity and enthusiasm for learning how AI tools can be used to improve processes and drive efficiency. Interest in exploring AI systems and a willingness to develop awareness of responsible AI practices, including risk management and ethical use.
Education
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Actuary or a business-related discipline - required.
Responsibilities
- Conduct credit analysis to support ratings, research, presentations, and investor outreach, including financial statement analysis, forecasting, and analytical commentary.
- Assist in portfolio reviews, credit projects, proprietary modeling, and the development of well-supported credit conclusions using Moody’s methodologies.
- Monitor issuer credit quality, industry trends, market developments, and financial reporting to identify key rating drivers and emerging risks.
- Prepare rating committee materials, contribute to credit risk assessments, and actively participate in rating committee discussions.
- Draft and support research publications, credit opinions, sector reports, press releases, and other market-facing communications.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with issuers and investors, participate in meetings and briefings, and respond to inquiries professionally.
- Ensure adherence to Moody’s policies, methodologies, documentation standards, regulatory requirements, and risk management practices while maintaining high-quality, error-free work.
- Manage workflow effectively, provide guidance to support teams, deliver constructive feedback, and promote operational efficiency and continuous improvement.

The Ratings & Research Support (RRS) team plays a critical role in supporting Moody’s credit rating and research activities. The team partners closely with analysts to deliver high-quality analytical, research, and operational support across a diverse portfolio of issuers and sectors. By combining strong financial acumen, attention to detail, and a commitment to excellence, RRS helps drive efficient rating processes, informed credit decisions, and timely publication of research and rating outputs. Team members work in a collaborative, fast-paced environment that offers exposure to global markets, credit analysis, and industry-leading rating methodologies while fostering continuous learning and professional growth.
