Skills and Competencies

• 3+ years of professional software engineering experience
• Solid Python development skills, with exposure to AWS Lambda or serverless architectures
• Working knowledge of React and/or TypeScript for frontend development
• Familiarity with relational databases such as PostgreSQL or SQL Server
• Experience writing unit and integration tests using pytest or similar frameworks
• Comfortable working in version-controlled codebases and CI/CD environments
• Eagerness to learn and apply AWS services within a serverless stack
• Basic understanding of artificial intelligence concepts, with curiosity and enthusiasm for learning how AI tools can be used to improve processes and drive efficiency.
• Exposure to AWS Glue, Step Functions, or data pipeline development is a plus
• Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code concepts such as AWS CDK is a plus
• Curiosity about LLMs, agentic tools, or AI-assisted development workflows is a plus
• Experience working on data-heavy or analytics-focused products along with Docker and Containerization is a plus

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent professional experience

Responsibilities

• Contribute to end-to-end feature delivery across backend and frontend systems while growing technical depth within established architectural patterns.
• Build and maintain Python-based AWS Lambda functions and API Gateway endpoints for product features
• Develop React and TypeScript frontend components under the guidance of Senior engineers
• Write unit and integration tests and contribute to maintaining CI/CD pipelines
• Work with S3 and relational databases to support data access and storage needs
• Contribute to ETL and data pipeline work under the direction of the Senior Data Engineer
• Participate actively in code reviews, sprint ceremonies, and technical discussions
• Document features and APIs clearly for use by other squads and stakeholders

About the Team

This role sits within a full‑stack engineering team supporting Moody’s Casualty and Financial Lines platforms. The team builds modern, serverless AWS solutions that power data‑driven products and analytics capabilities. Engineers work closely with Senior and Staff engineers, as well as Product and Data partners, in a collaborative environment that values thoughtful design, continuous learning, and steady progression toward technical leadership.
