Skills and Competencies
- Minimum of 7 years’ experience in relationship management, capital markets or a similar client-facing role, preferably within financial services.
- Strong understanding of financial instruments and the dynamics of capital and credit markets, with regional expertise in Southern Europe.
- Ability to independently manage complex client relationships with limited oversight and manage tender documentation.
- Strong negotiation and influencing skills, including the ability to defend pricing and contractual terms.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with senior and C level stakeholders.
- Fluency in English and Italian are required. French or Spanish are a plus.
Responsibilities
- Proactively manage a portfolio of existing key accounts across Western & Southern Europe with a primarily focus on Italian accounts.
- Serve as the primary commercial point of contact for assigned issuers.
- Deepen existing relationships, capture pricing opportunities, and grow share of wallet through delivery of tailored value propositions.
- Negotiate commercial terms, including fees, for new ratings and contract renewals.
- Identify and pursue business opportunities, including responding to RFPs and tender processes where applicable.
- Represent the Relationship Management team at internal meetings with analytical teams and other internal stakeholders.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to junior members of the Relationship Management team.
- May be required to support accounts outside the primary region and participate in international or cross functional projects.
Education
- Undergraduate / First Level degree (or equivalent), preferably in finance, accounting, economics, or business.
About the Team
We have an exciting opportunity for a senior client-facing individual contributor to be responsible for maintaining and extending existing customer relationships across Western & Southern Europe (Southern Europe, France and Benelux) within Moody’s Ratings.
In this role, the successful candidate will work autonomously with minimal supervision and will be accountable for managing a portfolio of complex relationships across corporates, financial institutions, and regional and local government entities.
The Relationship Management team is responsible for establishing, maintaining, and managing Moody’s commercial relationships across Europe, the Middle East, and Africa. The team works closely with analytical, product, and functional partners to ensure clients receive consistent, high-quality commercial engagement and value from Moody’s Ratings.
As an AVP – Relationship Management, you will play a key role in sustaining and expanding Moody’s franchise in Western & Southern Europe by strengthening long-term client relationships, supporting market development initiatives, and contributing to the overall commercial strategy of the region.
