Skills and Competencies

• 10+ years of progressive experience in data management, data quality, or data operations, with at least 5 years in a senior people leadership role overseeing multi-geography teams
• Demonstrated expertise in defining and executing regional data quality, coverage, and enrichment strategies aligned to broader business objectives
• Hands-on proficiency with modern data and analytics tools including Excel, Power BI, and SQL; experience with Python, Databricks, and large-scale data platforms is highly desirable
• Proven ability to lead, coach, and develop managers and individual contributors across multiple locations, fostering a culture of accountability, inclusion, and continuous improvement
• Strong cross-functional partnership and stakeholder management skills, with demonstrated ability to translate complex data insights and strategy into clear, actionable communication for senior audiences
• Experience with data governance, lineage, audit frameworks, and the design of scalable quality control and validation frameworks
• Strong program management capabilities with experience overseeing multiple concurrent, complex initiatives across cross-functional environments
• Deep expertise in artificial intelligence, with a track record of implementing advanced AI solutions to drive strategic transformation and operational efficiency. Strong experience using AI tools to lead innovation initiatives. Demonstrated leadership in managing AI-related risks, ensuring ethical governance, and fostering a culture of responsible AI adoption across the organization.

Education

• Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree in Data Science, Information Management, Business, or a related field preferred

Responsibilities

The Director – Data Specialist leads regional data quality and coverage strategy for Moody's Company Data, driving scalability, innovation, and long-term improvement across global datasets and teams.

• Define and own the regional strategy for data quality, coverage, and enrichment, ensuring alignment with Moody's broader Relationships Data and business objectives
• Lead, coach, and develop managers and individual contributors across multiple geographies, building a strong leadership bench and fostering a high-performance culture
• Own end-to-end accountability for regional data quality and coverage outcomes, ensuring remediation and enrichment efforts meet defined governance, lineage, and audit standards
• Serve as a strategic partner to Sales, Product Strategy, Content, Engineering, and Data Governance teams, translating business needs into scalable data initiatives and roadmap items
• Provide senior oversight of multiple data remediation, enrichment, and transformation initiatives, ensuring projects are aligned to strategic goals, adequately resourced, and delivering measurable impact
• Monitor regional performance metrics related to data quality, coverage, efficiency, and throughput, and present findings and recommendations to senior leadership audiences
• Sponsor and approve technical proposals for process optimization, automation, and AI-enabled remediation, leveraging tools such as Databricks, Power BI, and generative AI platforms
• Champion a technology-enabled, data-driven culture, promoting best practices in data management and encouraging knowledge sharing across teams and regions
