Skills and Competencies
Financial Accounting knowledge and the ability to analyze financial statements, including reviewing and adjusting issuer-reported data in line with relevant methodologies, is required
Strong English and French or German language skills; additional European language capability would be an advantage
Solid knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
Strong organizational, communication (verbal and written), and interpersonal skills
Highly organized, dependable, and able to manage multiple priorities, display initiative, and work independently in a demanding, fast-paced environment
Ability to quickly transition as priorities change to meet demands
Relevant work or internship experience in credit and/or financial analysis is desirable
Demonstrated proficiency in artificial intelligence concepts, with hands-on experience using AI tools to streamline workflows and enhance operational efficiency. Proven ability to implement AI-powered solutions to solve business challenges. Demonstrates a growing awareness of AI risk management and a commitment to responsible and ethical AI use
Education
Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science degree required; specialization in Accounting, Finance, or Economics highly desirable
Responsibilities
The Senior Financial Data Analyst contributes to the financial analysis component of the rating process for Financial Institutions, applying accounting and finance expertise to deliver accurate, consistent, and timely financial data in support of Moody's rating methodology requirements.
Support analysts by delivering accurate, timely, and consistent financial data in line with Moody's methodologies for various financial institutions, including banks, financial companies, securities firms, asset managers, and insurers
Review and understand financial statements, official statements, and other documents related to issuers' performance in collaboration with analysts and accounting specialists
Apply accounting and finance knowledge and judgment to perform financial statement analysis, adjust issuer-reported data per relevant methodology requirements, and review and analyze ratios
Create documentation and provide guidance to support analysts and outsourcers
Review, adjust, and publish data to be used by analytical teams and external market participants
Contribute to and lead senior technology projects, accounting changes, analytic reviews, methodology updates, and the implementation of process improvements
About the Team
The Analytic Data Operations team is a diverse, global function consisting of Financial Data Analysts supporting Banking, Insurance, Corporate Finance, Sovereign, Public Finance, and Structured Finance lines of business. With team members located in Vilnius, London, New York, Costa Rica, Hong Kong, Bangalore, and Tokyo, the team provides critical analytical data support to rating analysts across EMEA, the Americas, and Asia Pacific. Annual base salary gross: €26,700.00 to €42,700.00. Applicable to Lithuania candidates: The base salary range represents the low and high end of the Moody’s salary range for this position. Actual salaries will vary and will be based on various factors, such as candidate’s qualifications, skills, and competencies. The salary is one component of Moody’s total compensation package for employees. Other rewards and benefits include the following: Medical, Personal Accident, Life Insurance and Time Off.
