We do this by striving to create an inclusive environment where everyone feels welcome to be who they are—with the freedom to exchange ideas, think innovatively, and listen to each other and customers in meaningful ways. Moody’s is transforming how the world sees risk. As a global leader in ratings and integrated risk assessment, we’re advancing AI to move from insight to action—enabling intelligence that not only understands complexity but responds to it. We decode risk to unlock opportunity, helping our clients navigate uncertainty with clarity, speed, and confidence.

If you are excited about this opportunity but do not meet every single requirement, please apply! You still may be a great fit for this role or other open roles. We are seeking candidates who model our values: invest in every relationship, lead with curiosity, champion diverse perspectives, turn inputs into actions, and uphold trust through integrity.

Skills and Competencies

  • 8+ years of relevant experience, including substantial hands-on leadership of Finance process transformation, process excellence, or operating-model improvement in a complex organization.
  • Deep knowledge of core Finance processes, controls, data, and operating models across areas such as close and consolidation, reporting, planning and forecasting, revenue, and billing.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead end-to-end improvement initiatives, from diagnosis and future-state design through implementation, change adoption, and measurable benefits realization.
  • Mastery of structured process-improvement methods, supported by Lean Six Sigma Black Belt certification or equivalent demonstrated experience.
  • Strong stakeholder leadership and communication skills, with the ability to influence senior Finance leaders and align globally distributed, cross-functional teams without direct authority.
  • Experience establishing process governance, ownership, performance measures, control frameworks, documentation standards, and continuous-improvement routines.

Education

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • Additional credentials in change management, project management, accounting, or Finance transformation.

Responsibilities

  • Lead global Finance process improvements that strengthen controls, accuracy, efficiency, scalability, and measurable business outcomes.
  • Lead Finance process optimization and transformation initiatives from problem definition and root-cause analysis through future-state design, implementation, adoption, and benefits realization.
  • Assess processes, controls, data inputs and outputs, handoffs, and risks across core Finance workflows using deep Finance subject-matter knowledge.
  • Apply structured improvement methods to map current states, identify root causes, quantify opportunities, define future states, and sustain improvements.
  • Design stronger controls and standardized ways of working that improve accuracy, transparency, scalability, accountability, and compliance.
  • Establish process governance and ownership by defining decision rights, roles, policies, performance measures, documentation standards, and continuous-improvement routines.
  • Lead stakeholder alignment and change adoption across Finance, Accounting, Data, Technology, Risk, and other partners, resolving competing priorities and embedding new ways of working.
  • Track and communicate outcomes related to control effectiveness, quality, cycle time, capacity, cost, adoption, and realized benefits.
  • Coach teams in process-excellence practices and strengthen capability in problem solving, process ownership, controls, measurement, and continuous improvement.
  • Apply technology and artificial intelligence where they support an approved future-state process, partnering with technical teams on requirements, controls, delivery, and adoption.
  • Experience working across global organizations.
  • Experience applying technology and artificial intelligence as enablers of process improvement, with sound judgment to distinguish technology opportunities from process, policy, control, or operating-model issues.
  • Familiarity with enterprise Finance platforms, business-intelligence tools, and modern data environments.
