Skills and Competencies

  • Extensive experience in product management and technical leadership within the insurance industry, with a strong focus on underwriting solutions
  • Deep knowledge of primary insurance underwriting processes, methodologies, and technologies across property and casualty, life, and health lines
  • Proven ability to define product strategy, develop multi-year roadmaps, and lead teams through complex product lifecycles
  • Strong technical acumen with experience partnering closely with software engineering, data science, and analytics teams
  • Demonstrated expertise leveraging advanced analytics, predictive modeling, AI, and machine learning to drive product innovation
  • Exceptional communication skills with the ability to translate complex technical concepts for executive, client, and non-technical audiences
  • Strategic mindset with strong analytical and problem-solving skills and a passion for delivering measurable business impact
  • Basic understanding of AI concepts, with curiosity to learn, improve processes using AI tools, and develop responsible AI awareness

Education

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Actuarial Science, or a related field; advanced degree or certifications (CPCU, ACAS, FCAS) are a plus

Responsibilities

Provide strategic and technical leadership for the Application Product Management team, driving the vision and execution of UnderwriteIQ and primary underwriting solutions.
  • Define and communicate product strategy and vision aligned with Moody’s Insurance Solutions business goals
  • Lead and mentor the product management team, establishing priorities, roadmaps, and execution of key initiatives
  • Collaborate with senior leadership on long-term product strategies to drive growth and competitive advantage
  • Oversee the full product lifecycle from ideation through release, enhancement, and ongoing maintenance
  • Partner with engineering, data science, and QA teams to ensure timely, high-quality product delivery
  • Engage clients to gather feedback, support onboarding, lead presentations, and inform roadmap decisions
  • Drive development of advanced analytics, underwriting models, and AI/ML capabilities to improve efficiency and accuracy
  • Monitor market trends, regulatory changes, and emerging technologies to proactively evolve products and meet customer needs

About the Team

The Application Product Management team within Moody’s Insurance Solutions collaborates with technology, data, and business stakeholders to deliver innovative underwriting solutions. The team combines deep industry expertise with advanced analytics to build scalable products that enable clients to make more informed, data-driven underwriting decisions while driving measurable business value.

For US-based roles only: the anticipated hiring base salary range for this position is $127,700.00 - $185,150.00, depending on factors such as experience, education, level, skills, and location. This range is based on a full-time position. In addition to base salary, this role is eligible for incentive compensation. Moody’s also offers a competitive benefits package, including not but limited to medical, dental, vision, parental leave, paid time off, a 401(k) plan with employee and company contribution opportunities, life, disability, and accident insurance, a discounted employee stock purchase plan, and tuition reimbursement.
