Skills and Competencies

  • 8-10+ years of demonstrated proficiency in project finance and infrastructure credit analysis, including public-private partnership (PPP) transactions across power, transportation, and social infrastructure sectors.
  • Strong ability to evaluate complex commercial and contractual arrangements that underpin project finance structures, including demand-risk and availability-risk models.
  • Advanced financial analysis skills, including cash-flow lending techniques, capital structure assessment, and evaluation of construction and operational risk.
  • Experience covering both investment-grade and speculative-grade issuers, including government-owned enterprises and sub-sovereign entities.
  • Proven written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present clear, well-supported credit recommendations to rating committees and external stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in artificial intelligence concepts, with hands-on experience using AI tools to streamline workflows and enhance operational efficiency. Proven ability to implement AI-powered solutions to solve business challenges. Demonstrates a growing awareness of AI risk management and a commitment to responsible and ethical AI use.
Education
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Economics, Finance, or a closely related field.
  • Master’s degree, CFA, or similar professional designation preferred.
Responsibilities
This role is responsible for leading credit analysis and ratings activities for a portfolio of project finance and infrastructure issuers, while contributing thought leadership and mentoring junior analysts.
  • Actively monitor a portfolio of project finance and infrastructure issuers, including PPP transactions, across sectors such as power generation and transmission, toll roads, bridges, tunnels, ports, airports, rail, and social infrastructure.
  • Review and assess credit considerations of complex commercial and contractual arrangements that form the basis of project finance transactions.
  • Analyze transactions under demand-risk and availability-risk frameworks with limited oversight.
  • Prepare and present detailed credit analyses covering management strategy, construction risk, operations, competitive environment, business risk, and capital structure.
  • Develop initial rating recommendations for new issuers and recommend rating actions for existing issuers to rating committees.
  • Publish high-quality, timely written credit research, including issuer-specific and broader industry research.
  • Support and participate in outreach with investors, intermediaries, issuers, regulators, and other stakeholders, including delivering thought-leading presentations on infrastructure credit topics.
  • Manage assigned issuer relationships with a high level of professionalism and engagement.
  • Mentor and provide guidance to junior members of the analytical team.
About the Team
The Project Finance and Infrastructure team within MIS focuses on delivering rigorous, independent credit analysis across a wide range of global infrastructure assets. The team collaborates closely with issuers, investors, and internal partners, combining deep sector expertise with strong analytical standards to support high-quality credit opinions and market insight.

For US-based roles only: the anticipated hiring base salary range for this position is $198,300.00-$287,550.00, depending on factors such as experience, education, level, skills, and location. This range is based on a full-time position. In addition to base salary, this role is eligible for incentive compensation.
