Skills and Competencies
  • Extensive experience leading and scaling high-performing sales teams within life insurance, reinsurance, or broader financial services environments.
  • Deep understanding of life insurance and annuity products, including pricing, valuation, asset liability management, capital management, and related actuarial concepts.
  • Proven ability to design and execute strategic sales plans across complex, matrixed organizations and multi-stakeholder buying environments.
  • Strong consultative selling skills with the ability to translate complex technical and actuarial concepts into clear business value for senior client stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated success driving new business development, pipeline growth, and revenue performance across enterprise clients.
  • Strong communication, presentation, and stakeholder influence skills, with experience engaging at executive and C-level audiences.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with actuarial subject matter experts, product management, delivery, and customer success teams.
  • Strong coaching and people leadership capabilities, with a track record of developing and retaining top sales talent.
  • Ability to effectively and responsibly use AI-enabled tools and technologies to support sales planning, customer insights, forecasting, and productivity.
  • Understanding of responsible AI principles, including data privacy, security, and ethical use of AI in business decision-making.
  • Willingness to continuously learn and adapt as AI capabilities evolve, incorporating AI-driven insights into sales strategy and execution.
Education
  • Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree in business, finance, actuarial science, mathematics, or a related field preferred.
Responsibilities
This role is responsible for setting and executing the regional life insurance sales strategy while leading a specialist sales organization to drive sustainable revenue growth and long-term client partnerships.
  • Lead, manage, and develop a team of Life Insurance Sales Specialists and Solution Specialists to achieve individual and regional sales objectives.
  • Own and execute the regional sales strategy for life insurance solutions, aligning priorities with overall business goals and market opportunities.
  • Drive new business development and expansion opportunities across life insurance and reinsurance clients.
  • Manage the full sales lifecycle, including prospecting, qualification, solution positioning, commercial negotiation, and contract close.
  • Partner closely with actuarial subject matter experts, product management, and delivery teams to design and position compelling, client-focused solutions.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key client stakeholders, including senior executives and decision-makers.
  • Monitor pipeline health, forecast performance, and implement actions to ensure consistent achievement of revenue targets.
  • Coach, mentor, and performance-manage sales team members, providing ongoing feedback, development planning, and support.
  • Represent the life insurance sales organization internally, sharing market insights and client feedback to inform product and solution strategy.
About the Team
The Life Insurance Sales team partners with life insurers and reinsurers to deliver advanced solutions across pricing, valuation, asset liability management, capital optimization, and risk analytics. Working in close collaboration with actuarial, product, and delivery teams, the group takes a consultative approach to solving complex regulatory, financial, and strategic challenges for clients. The team plays a critical role in expanding market presence, strengthening long-term client relationships, and enabling insurers to make confident, data-driven decisions in an evolving global insurance landscape.

For US-based roles only: the anticipated hiring base salary range for this position is $163,300.00 - $236,800.00, depending on factors such as experience, education, level, skills, and location. This range is based on a full-time position. In addition to base salary, this role is eligible for incentive compensation. Moody’s also offers a competitive benefits package, including not but limited to medical, dental, vision, parental leave, paid time off, a 401(k) plan with employee and company contribution opportunities, life, disability, and accident insurance, a discounted employee stock purchase plan, and tuition reimbursement.
