Skills and Competencies

  • 1–3 years of experience in data operations, data management, data analytics, automation, or a related role
  • Proficiency in SQL, including writing and optimizing queries for data extraction, transformation, and reporting across relational databases such as PostgreSQL, MySQL
  • Strong Python skills for data manipulation, with hands-on experience using Pandas and NumPy, and familiarity with analytics or visualization libraries
  • Understanding of data architectures, data modeling concepts, ETL processes, and data integration technologies
  • Experience applying data quality frameworks and best practices to ensure accuracy, consistency, and completeness of data
  • Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills with the ability to analyze and manage large datasets
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across global teams and explain complex topics clearly
  • English proficiency at B2+ level or higher
  • Experience with Spark and PySpark for distributed data processing and scalable ETL workflows
  •  Presentation and data visualization experience using tools such as Power BI, Tableau, QlikView, or equivalent platforms
  •  Familiarity with Databricks for collaborative data engineering and analytics
  • Knowledge of entity resolution, deduplication, and data matching techniques
  •  Exposure to Generative AI tools or frameworks for data enrichment or automation use cases
  • Demonstrated proficiency in artificial intelligence concepts, with hands-on experience using AI tools to streamline workflows and enhance operational efficiency.
  • Proven ability to implement AI-powered solutions to solve business challenges. Demonstrates a growing awareness of AI risk management and a commitment to responsible and ethical AI use.

  •  Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Data Engineering, Data Science, Software Development, or a related field
    Responsibilities
  • This role is responsible for supporting and enhancing data quality, operational efficiency, and data-driven decision-making across Moody’s Analytics by working closely with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
  • Develop, execute, and maintain processes to monitor and continuously improve data quality across multiple data sources
  • Design and contribute to data deduplication and data matching frameworks to improve data integrity
  • Analyze existing data operations workflows and identify opportunities to improve efficiency through automation and process optimization
  • Collaborate closely with Sales, Content, Product Strategy, and Technology teams to understand business requirements and optimize data pipelines and architecture
  • Support internal and external stakeholders by responding to data-related requests and providing timely insights
  • Contribute to the ongoing evolution of the data estate, including Orbis and other flagship products, by ensuring high standards of data integrity and operational excellence

    The Data Estate team is part of the commercial data business within Moody’s Analytics and is best known for Orbis, the world’s most comprehensive database of public and private companies. The team provides mission-critical data to decision-makers around the globe, removing the complexity of sourcing and preparing data while delivering added value through insight, quality, and accessibility.
