Skills and Competencies 

  • 4+ years of relevant work experience, including prior financial services or financial data/process management experience, with a proven track record in operational effectiveness and previous management or supervisory experience.

  • Strong strategic and tactical management skills, with the ability to mentor, lead, and build high-performance teams while driving initiatives with minimal supervision.

  • Ability to dissect and understand complex problems, build consensus across organizational departments, and drive initiatives forward through effective stakeholder alignment.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate complex business concepts to senior audiences and communicate effectively across all levels of the organization.

  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and resourceful, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and maintain efficiency in fast-paced environments.

  • Flexible and proactive work approach, including willingness to work beyond normal business hours to resolve priority issues, combined with a strong self-starter mindset.

  • Advanced Microsoft Office proficiency (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and a strong client-focused orientation, with the drive and enthusiasm to achieve results and ensure customer satisfaction.

  • Basic understanding of artificial intelligence concepts, with curiosity and enthusiasm for learning how AI tools can be used to improve processes and drive efficiency. Interest in exploring AI systems and a willingness to develop awareness of responsible AI practices, including risk management and ethical use

Education 

  • Undergraduate/first-level degree (E.g. Bachelor’s degree) ideally within the financial discipline 

  • Master’s degree preferred

Responsibilities 

A Team Lead works closely with Senior Managers to manage a group of Associates - to ensure data consistency and accuracy of information processed across the group.  This role will involve regular liaison with the following departments when working on related performance enhancing projects: Information Technology, Commercial Group, Rating Groups, Legal, Compliance, Credit and Regulatory Team and Data Governance.

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with Rating Analysts, MDs, and senior stakeholders, acting as a regular liaison to foster communication and alignment, and serving as a secondary escalation point for issue resolution.

  • Manage and supervise associates in operational tasks, project execution, and problem analysis, ensuring adherence to company policies, procedures, and effective communication with management.

  • Apply and implement people, legal, compliance, risk, and credit policies into workflows, ensuring alignment with evolving standards and regulatory requirements.

  • Mentor, develop, and support team members while partnering closely with senior leadership (Senior Manager to Senior Vice President levels) to drive team performance and growth.

  • Oversee team quality assurance by reviewing data discrepancy reports, ensuring proper documentation, tracking, and resolution, while monitoring objectives and training initiatives for accuracy and completeness.

  • Ensure timely execution of daily requests and inquiries, maintain accurate process documentation and user manuals, and coordinate large or complex regional operations across internal departments.

  • Drive operational excellence by recommending process improvements, enhancing efficiency, and establishing guidelines, while actively contributing to team discussions and identifying key issues.

  • Manage team performance through reporting, tracking, and continuous feedback on both quality and productivity metrics, including delivering mid-year and annual performance reviews and developing reporting for initiative transparency.

Our Ratings Operations – Data Operations team is responsible for ensuring the accuracy and consistency of critical financial and ratings data processes & enabling high-quality, efficient operations that support complex analytical workflows; we contribute to Moody’s by driving operational excellence, strengthening data governance and quality assurance, and advancing process improvement and automation initiatives across global teams.
