Skills and Competencies

  • A minimum of five years of relevant experience is required. Experience with technical accounting, controls, and sustainability matters is preferred
  • Strong initiative and comfort working in an entrepreneurial, technology-driven environment with evolving requirements
  • Experience developing, assessing, and documenting internal controls and data governance mechanisms to support regulated reporting
  • Technical experience supporting regulatory implementations, including reviewing requirements, conducting gap assessments, and drafting reporting documentation
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to build collaborative relationships with cross-functional teams involved in reporting and compliance activities
  • Ability to monitor regulatory developments, interpret requirements, and support scoping and impact assessments
  • Willingness to learn and stay current on the evolving regulated sustainability reporting landscape

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a similar field is required

Responsibilities

  • Support regulated environmental, social, and governance regulatory reporting through technical analysis, controls, and cross-team collaboration
  • Execute against the regulated sustainability reporting disclosure framework and strategy, including reviewing regulatory requirements, conducting gap assessments, and drafting reports based on applicable requirements
  • Identify, develop, and maintain process and control design documentation to support reporting compliance and assurance readiness
  • Coordinate with internal stakeholders to support compliance audits and respond to documentation or evidence requests
  • Assess opportunities for continuous improvement and automation to strengthen and streamline environmental, social, and governance compliance processes
  • Support data centralization, governance, and consistency of approach across global reporting jurisdictions
  • Collaborate with Corporate Sustainability and other key stakeholders to align reporting approach, technical standards, and data governance expectations
  • Track regulatory developments and support scoping, interpretation, and impact assessment activities

About the team
Our Sustainability Controllership team is responsible for leading regulated sustainability reporting. This includes key activities such as ensuring compliance and assurance readiness. The team helps Moody’s interpret evolving reporting requirements, strengthen data governance, collaborate with subject matter experts across the company, and promote consistent reporting approaches across global jurisdictions.
