Skills and Competencies
- Experience in data science, data engineering, machine learning, financial analytics, digital assets, capital markets or risk analytics
- Strong understanding of structured and unstructured data, including on-chain and off-chain data sources
- Experience developing and deploying scalable data, analytics or artificial intelligence and/or machine learning capabilities that support business, analytical or strategic objectives
- Experience working with APIs, data services and integration frameworks to ingest, enrich and operationalize data within analytical workflows and technology platforms.
- Working knowledge of artificial intelligence, machine learning and advanced analytics, with the ability to apply these techniques in financial, analytical or market-facing contexts
- Ability to translate complex digital asset, market and analytical concepts into quantitative insights and scalable data capabilities
- Strong programming, data engineering, data modeling and analytical problem-solving skills, including experience with large and complex datasets
- Experience operating in cross-functional environments and partnering with business, analytical, technology and data stakeholders to deliver complex initiatives
- Demonstrated proficiency in artificial intelligence concepts, with hands-on experience using AI tools to streamline workflows, enhance operational efficiency and support responsible and ethical AI use
Education
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent relevant experience in data science, computer science, engineering, finance, economics, statistics, mathematics or a related field
Responsibilities
Build data, analytics and AI capabilities that strengthen digital asset insight and market readiness
- Support the development of scalable data capabilities that enhance Moody’s Ratings’ ability to analyze digital assets, tokenized instruments and emerging market infrastructure
- Identify, structure and integrate digital asset, market infrastructure and ecosystem data sources to improve accessibility, quality and usability
- Partner with technology, analytical, external data and industry stakeholders to strengthen data processes that support business priorities and long-term capability development
- Develop and refine analytical models, data pipelines and tools that transform complex digital asset data into actionable insights.
- Develop analytical approaches to interpret complex digital asset, tokenization and market infrastructure data
- Convert structured and unstructured data into insights that support strategic decision-making and analytical preparedness
- Apply quantitative techniques to identify patterns, trends and risk-relevant signals across digital financial markets
- Explore artificial intelligence, machine learning and advanced analytics opportunities to improve data processing, insight generation, scalability and business efficiency
- Collaborate with technology, architecture and business teams to integrate data, analytics and AI capabilities into products, platforms and operational workflows.
- Translate technical insights into practical recommendations that inform roadmap discussions, investment decisions and strategic planning
About the Team
Our Digital Economy team within Moody’s Ratings supports the firm’s strategy for innovative technologies including digital assets, tokenization, decentralized finance, stablecoins, on-chain infrastructure and data-driven innovation. The team works across analytical, technology, risk oversight, commercial and operational functions to develop scalable capabilities that help Moody’s Ratings understand, assess, ingest and deliver credit-relevant insights in digital financial markets. By joining the team, you will contribute to data science work at the intersection of blockchain networks, stablecoins, artificial intelligence and capital markets, while supporting responsible adoption of artificial intelligence and advanced analytics to strengthen workflows, decision-making and business readiness.
For US-based roles only: the anticipated hiring base salary range for this position is Rs2,581,700.00 - Rs4,324,400.00, depending on factors such as experience, education, level, skills, and location. This range is based on a full-time position. In addition to base salary, this role may be eligible for a completion bonus. Moody’s also offers insurance and a discounted employee stock purchase plan for limited duration employees.
