Skills and Competencies

• 6+ years of experience designing and building production ready backend services using Python (Django, FastAPI, or Flask) and frontend applications using React, JavaScript, HTML, and CSS
• Proven experience developing and operating containerised or serverless applications on AWS and/or Azure to support scalable, reliable systems; CI/CD pipeline experience is preferred to enable efficient delivery
• Strong proficiency with SQL and NoSQL databases and a solid understanding of system architecture, secure coding practices, authentication, authorisation, and encryption
• Basic understanding of artificial intelligence concepts, with curiosity and enthusiasm for learning how AI tools can be used to improve processes and drive efficiency. Interest in exploring AI systems and a willingness to develop awareness of responsible AI practices, including risk management and ethical use
• Hands on experience with automated testing, API testing, Git, Docker, and Unix like environments; Microsoft Teams app development experience is preferred
• Strong problem solving, debugging, communication, and collaboration skills, with the ability to take ownership, mentor others, and deliver high quality outcomes in a fast paced environment.

Education

• Master’s or bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, or a related field.

Responsibilities

Design and deliver scalable, secure, full stack software solutions in a cloud native environment, while offering technical guidance and mentorship to team members.

• Design, develop, and maintain backend and frontend solutions using Python based frameworks and modern web technologies, working independently with minimal supervision
• Architect, implement, and operate scalable, reliable, and cost efficient applications on cloud platforms, making independent technical decisions within agreed standards
• Design, enhance, and test REST APIs and system integrations to enable seamless interoperability across platforms
• Write secure, efficient, reusable, and testable code, ensuring compliance with security, authentication, authorisation, and data protection standards
• Lead and actively participate in code reviews to uphold engineering standards, improve maintainability, and promote best practices across the team
• Provide technical guidance to team members, supporting skill development and fostering a collaborative, inclusive team culture
• Work closely with product managers, designers, and stakeholders to translate business requirements into well designed technical solutions
• Contribute to CI/CD improvements and DevOps practices to streamline deployments and improve system reliability
• Create and maintain technical documentation for system designs, workflows, and APIs to support maintainability and knowledge sharing
• Stay current with emerging technologies, including AI capabilities, and participate in team ceremonies to align solutions with strategic goals.

The team partners closely with senior leaders, product teams, and key stakeholders across the enterprise to drive operational excellence while also advancing innovation, including the adoption and enablement of AI driven capabilities.
