Skills and Competencies

  • Proficiency in C++ and/or C# for developing and maintaining data processing pipelines
  • Experience handling multi-format data (TXT, CSV, XML, JSON, HTML, XBRL) to integrate heterogeneous data sources
  • Working knowledge of SQL and database systems (data modelling, basic indexing, query optimisation)
  • Familiarity with cloud environments (AWS preferred) for data storage and processing
  • Ability to contribute to automated systems (scripts, batch processing, schedulers) under guidance
  • Exposure to error handling, logging, and monitoring practices to support reliable processes
  • Basic understanding of artificial intelligence concepts and interest in learning how AI tools can improve efficiency
  • Awareness of responsible AI practices, including data ethics and risk considerations
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail for data validation and quality checks
  • Ideally some exposure to Python for data processing or automation
  • Familiarity with version control tools such as GitHub
  • Exposure to data quality checks, ETL pipelines, or large-scale data processing

Education

  • Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field (Bachelor’s or Master’s preferred)
  • Equivalent practical experience will also be considered

Responsibilities

Design, build, and support multi-source data processing pipelines to ensure accurate and reliable data integration.

  • Collect and integrate data from multiple sources (FTP servers, APIs, internal repositories)
  • Support the automation of data retrieval, storage, and organisation
  • Analyse and validate data formats, structures, and completeness
  • Identify and escalate data issues such as missing or invalid files using established logging mechanisms
  • Transform and standardise data according to defined business rules
  • Create and maintain database structures ensuring data integrity and avoiding duplication
  • Implement basic indexing and querying mechanisms
  • Support integration of external datasets and modules to enrich existing data
  • Generate statistics and basic reports on processed data
  • Produce exports in required formats (TXT, JSON, binary)
  • Contribute to performance and scalability improvements in data workflows
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot data pipeline issues with support from senior engineers
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives, including exploration of AI-based enhancements
