Skills and Qualifications
- 8+ years of credit/risk assessment experience, with a proven track record in fund finance, asset management, or structured finance
- Deep understanding of asset management and fund finance sectors, including key players, and industry drivers
- Excellent communication skills, with demonstrated public speaking and writing experience
- Strong quantitative aptitude and analytical skills, with proficiency in financial modeling
- Highly organized and efficient, with the ability to multi-task and able to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines
- Commitment to ongoing professional development and learning
- Basic understanding of artificial intelligence concepts, with curiosity and enthusiasm for learning how AI tools can improve processes and drive efficiency
Education
- Master’s degree in Finance, Economics, or a related field
Responsibilities
The role expands on the AVP duties by also representing Moody’s Ratings publicly, collaborating on methodology and technology projects, and mentoring junior analysts. Candidates need at least 8 years of credit or risk assessment experience with deep sector knowledge and excellent communication skills.
- Lead the analysis for assigning new ratings to fund finance transactions (i.e. rated note feeders, subscription credit facilities, net asset value loans and asset-backed lending facilities)
- Build and maintain strong relationships with fund sponsors, lenders and arrangers to support analytical excellence and market insight
- Represent Moody’s Ratings as a thought leader by presenting at industry conferences, webinars and podcasts, and authoring sector comments
- Collaborate with teams across Moody’s Ratings to drive excellence in our credit analysis
- Contribute to methodology and technology development projects to enhance our analytical capabilities and efficiency
- Mentor and coach junior rating analysts, supporting their professional growth and credit skills development

Our Funds and Asset Management team is responsible for delivering high-quality credit ratings and research across North America & enhancing market transparency, supporting investor decision-making, and expanding our brand as a trusted source of credit insight. For US-based roles only: the anticipated hiring base salary range for this position is $198,300.00-$287,550.00, depending on factors such as experience, education, level, skills, and location. This range is based on a full-time position. In addition to base salary, this role is eligible for incentive compensation. Moody’s also offers a competitive benefits package, including not but limited to medical, dental, vision, parental leave, paid time off, a 401(k) plan with employee and company contribution opportunities, life, disability, and accident insurance, a discounted employee stock purchase plan, and tuition reimbursement.
