Skills and Competencies
- Required: 7+ years of professional experience with Python and Java in production environments.
- Required: Proven success building large-scale, multi-threaded distributed systems.
- Required: Deep expertise with AWS cloud services (e.g., Glue, Redshift, Lambda, S3, Aurora Postgres, EKS) and enterprise data platforms.
- Required: Strong understanding of streaming frameworks (Kafka, Flink, Spark) and real-time data processing.
- Required: Proficiency in SQL and PGSQL.
- Required: Experience with DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and automated testing.
- Preferred: Familiarity with financial data quality frameworks.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree required.
Responsibilities
Lead the design and development of enterprise-scale, cloud-native data platforms, using both Python and Java to process data from millions of companies worldwide.
- Lead the design and development of multi-threaded, distributed applications in both Python and Java.
- Code high-volume data services on AWS (Glue, Redshift, Lambda, S3, Aurora Postgres, EKS).
- Own the design of microservices and event-driven platforms, ensuring performance, reliability, and scalability.
- Implement metadata-driven rule engines, validation frameworks, and governance models.
- Mentor senior engineers, set coding standards, and contribute to long-term architectural strategy.
- Collaborate with product and business leaders to align technical roadmaps with enterprise goals.

Our Data Validation Team at Moody’s Analytics sits at the core of our Data Estate initiative, responsible for ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and trustworthiness of some of the world’s most important financial data. We work with datasets covering over 500 million companies worldwide, powering the analytics and insights used by global banks, investors, and regulators. For US-based roles only: the anticipated hiring base salary range for this position is $116,500.00 - $169,000.00, depending on factors such as experience, education, level, skills, and location. This range is based on a full-time position. In addition to base salary, this role is eligible for incentive compensation. Moody’s also offers a competitive benefits package, including not but limited to medical, dental, vision, parental leave, paid time off, a 401(k) plan with employee and company contribution opportunities, life, disability, and accident insurance, a discounted employee stock purchase plan, and tuition reimbursement.
