Skills and Competencies

  • A total of 5-6 years of copyediting experience in the KPO sector, online or print publication, or corporation. 2-3 years of copyediting business content desired.
  • Knowledge of Associated Press style and willingness to become an expert on Moody's Analytics style.
  • Broad understanding of economics and policy issues.
  • Highly organized, efficient, able to meet tight deadlines, and an open mind-set.
  • Attention to detail and ability to edit clear and concise copies.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office is a plus.

 


Education
Bachelor's degree in English, writing, journalism, communications, commerce, economics, or related fields.

 

 

Responsibilities

The Economics Center of Excellence is hiring a Senior Copy Editor to join our team and ensure that we publish high-quality reports, white papers, and blogs. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in copyediting in the context of economics, business, and/or finance. Editing experience is a plus. A keen eye for detail and the ability to juggle competing priorities and meet deadlines are a must.

 

  • Copyedit research reports for grammar, spelling, punctuation and syntax.
  • Ensure Moody's Analytics house style is followed and formatting is correct.
  • Identify documents needing additional work and escalate to the economist.
  • Help economists understand editorial changes to improve writing skills.
  • Ability to pivot workflow and collaborate with other members of the publications team so that multiple concurrent deadlines are met.
  • Work with the publications team to enhance the process, update style guides, and adopt new technologies.

For US-based roles only: the anticipated hiring base salary range for this position is $56,300.00 - $81,650.00, depending on factors such as experience, education, level, skills, and location. This range is based on a full-time position. In addition to base salary, this role is eligible for incentive compensation. Moody’s also offers a competitive benefits package, including not but limited to medical, dental, vision, parental leave, paid time off, a 401(k) plan with employee and company contribution opportunities, life, disability, and accident insurance, a discounted employee stock purchase plan, and tuition reimbursement.
