The Lending Advisor role is a high-visibility role vital to Moody’s Lending Advisory & Pre-Sales team, combining technical knowledge with the commercial lending industry’s best practices. We have a need for outstanding individuals with knowledge of the commercial loan origination or underwriting process, excellent communication skills, and prior client-facing experience. You will support pre-sales efforts, including client engagement, project scoping, proposal creation, and drafting work orders (and other contract types). Client negotiation skills, creative solutioning and adaptability, thought leadership in presentations, attention to detail, and familiarity with Moody's products are essential. Activities include:

  • Establishing a clear understanding of customers’ current and future lending goals.
  • Independently facilitating and leading business requirements and design workshops to understand customers’ loan origination processes.
  • Leading and/or supporting the solution design process, weighing solution pros/cons, and articulating proposed solution artifacts and recommendations to both internal and external key stakeholders.
  • Leading and/or supporting the creation and scope of solution design process diagrams and legal contracts for implementation.
  • Supporting pre-sales commercial negotiations regarding project scope, technical platform capabilities or limitations, software contract obligations, implementation delivery approach, and/or customer expectations.
  • Collaborating and coordinating with customers and project delivery teams to formalize and handoff project engagements.
  • Scoping and estimating proposed implementation effort and project timeline, and supporting responses to RFPs, RFIs, and other sales-related activities for prospects.
  • Provide industry best practice recommendations to effectively support and influence future Product Development roadmap.
  • Supporting both internal and external knowledge sharing and/or training sessions to enhance client-specific use cases.
  • Remaining aware of banking industry standards, regulations, and best practices that impact lending and origination processes.

Qualifications and Skills Required:

  • 3+ years’ professional experience in one or more of commercial banking, commercial credit, pre-sales, customer success, and/or technical consulting role(s).
  • Strong commercial lending knowledge, such as lending, underwriting, risk rating, portfolio management workflows, and familiarity with 3rd party providers commonly used in commercial lending, KYC/KYB, due diligence and loan doc preparation.
  • Experience in commercial lending credit risk assessment practices across at least one of C&I, CRE, and/or Agriculture sectors.
  • Knowledge and experience in implementing, configuring, or administering commercial lending, loan origination, and/or credit risk assessment software is preferred.
  • Ability to independently lead client discussions and/or coach clients regarding both technical solutions as well as industry best practices are preferred.
  • Self-disciplined, highly organized, highly curious, and attentive to detail.
  • Ability to proactively contribute towards process improvement and standardized go-to-market artifacts.
  • Ability to think creatively and translate client needs into high-level functional requirements and concisely explain complex solution designs.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and relationship builder, with prior client-facing responsibilities preferred.
  • Proven ability to create proposals and artifacts targeted towards executive-level stakeholders, with prior experience in Microsoft Visio (or similar software) and PowerPoint a plus.
  • Willingness to travel for key customer engagements.
