Skills and Competencies
- Technical & Business Acumen: Required is a solid understanding of the technology landscape (e.g., Software Engineering, Cloud, DevOps, Infrastructure Support) and the ability to explain complex technical concepts and their business implications in non-technical terms.
- Relationship Management: Required are excellent interpersonal skills with a proven ability to build and nurture strong relationships, negotiate effectively, and manage conflict with a variety of stakeholders.
- Program Management: Required are skills to manage complex technology projects, including setting and managing timelines and budgets, coordinating with various teams, and identifying and mitigating risks to ensure successful delivery.
- Analytical & Decision-Making Skills: Required are strong analytical skills to collect and analyze data, interpret trends, and make informed, confident decisions, even in high-pressure situations.
- Visionary Leadership: Desired is the ability to articulate a clear and compelling technology vision that aligns with business goals and to motivate teams to work towards this vision.
Education
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related field, or equivalent experience is required.
Responsibilities
Serves as the strategic interface between business units and IT, driving technology strategy, solution discovery, and relationship management to meet business needs.
- Strategic Planning (30%): Propose and plan technology solutions for future success, providing context and forward-looking insight to leadership to inform prioritization and decision-making, balancing business enablement with protective controls.
- Business Solutions (25%): Act as a trusted advisor to assigned business units, providing expert knowledge of technology solutions and industry best practices. Troubleshoot technical issues and manage business expectations to ensure needs are met with high-quality solutions.
- Relationship Management (20%): Build and maintain strong, collaborative relationships between the Technology Services Group and its business partners. Understand partner needs, expectations, and business risks to ensure they are prioritized, addressed, and communicated appropriately.
- Program Management (15%): Ensure that project and department milestones and goals are met while adhering to approved scope, budgets, and controls.
- Reporting and Analysis (10%): Align with the Project Management Office and other partners (e.g., Finance, Risk, Compliance) to assess the performance of technology services. Collect and analyze data, prepare and present reports and dashboards, and make recommendations for improvements.
About the team
The Business Technology Strategy Partner (BTSP) is a key member of the Technology Services Group (TSG). This role acts as a dedicated liaison, embedded with our business units to ensure a deep understanding of their unique challenges and goals. You will work collaboratively within TSG and across the organization to bridge the gap between business strategy and technology execution, ensuring we deliver innovative and effective solutions that drive the business forward.
For US-based roles only: the anticipated hiring base salary range for this position is $208,200.00 - $301,950.00, depending on factors such as experience, education, level, skills, and location. This range is based on a full-time position. In addition to base salary, this role is eligible for incentive compensation.
