Skills and Competencies
Basic understanding of artificial intelligence concepts, with curiosity and enthusiasm for learning how AI tools can be used to improve processes and drive efficiency. Interest in exploring AI systems and a willingness to develop awareness of responsible AI practices, including risk management and ethical use.
- Basic understanding of Windows, Linux, or cloud environments
- Interest in learning enterprise monitoring, automation, and IT operations
- Strong problem-solving, teamwork, and communication skills
- Curiosity, initiative, and a desire to learn from experienced engineers
Nice to have:
- Familiarity with tools like BMC Helix, Grafana, Dynatrace, or Datadog
- Exposure to ITIL, APIs, or JSON/log analysis
Education
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field
- Graduation date of December 2026 - June 2028
- Ability to work during program dates: June 1st - August 7th 2026
Responsibilities
- Assist in monitoring daily operations using tools such as BMC Helix Operations Manager (BHOM), Dynatrace and SolarWinds
- Help build dashboards, alerts, and reports that visualize system health and availability
- Participate in troubleshooting and root-cause analysis for performance and availability issues
- Support configuration reviews, testing, and documentation of monitoring processes
- Learn scripting and automation basics (Python, PowerShell, or Bash) to streamline tasks
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Network, Infrastructure, Automation and ServiceNow)
You will learn:
- The difference between monitoring and observability in modern IT operations
- How enterprise tools integrate with ServiceNow and AIOps workflows
- Techniques for alert tuning, dashboard design, and intelligent event management
- Real-world skills in incident response, data visualization, and automation
About the Program
Join Moody’s Enterprise Observability & Automation team as an Enterprise Monitoring Intern! In this role, you’ll gain hands-on experience working with global monitoring systems that keep critical business services running 24x7. You’ll collaborate with experienced engineers to support real-world operations, learn industry-leading tools, and help improve the visibility, reliability, and performance of enterprise systems. You’ll work with a highly skilled, globally distributed team leading Moody’s observability and automation initiatives. This is a unique opportunity to learn how enterprise monitoring drives uptime, automation, and business reliability—while gaining practical experience with the technologies shaping the future of IT operations.
Moody's 10-week summer internship program is a premier opportunity for students to immerse themselves in a hands-on learning experience, guided by Moody's commitment to integrity, excellence, and insight. The program takes place each summer from June – August and positions are available for undergraduate and select graduate students. Internships are full-time, offering a comprehensive view of Moody's business and culture, and a chance to build professional and technical skills. Programmatic elements include networking, mentorship, leadership speaker series and volunteering events. Interns complete project work determined by their team that have real impact, fostering a sense of accomplishment and professional growth. Throughout the internship, participants receive mentorship from Moody's professionals, gaining insights into diverse career paths and cultivate a comprehensive understanding of the company. Networking events and workshops further enrich the experience, providing a platform for professional development and collaboration. As a Moody's intern, you will gain real-world experience, turn inputs into actions, and be integral part of the team.
For US-based roles only: the anticipated hiring hourly range for this position is $1.00 - $4.00, depending on factors such as experience, education, level, skills, and location.
