At Moody's, we unite the brightest minds to turn today’s risks into tomorrow’s opportunities. We do this by striving to create an inclusive environment where everyone feels welcome to be who they are—with the freedom to exchange ideas, think innovatively, and listen to each other and customers in meaningful ways. Moody’s is transforming how the world sees risk. As a global leader in ratings and integrated risk assessment, we’re advancing AI to move from insight to action—enabling intelligence that not only understands complexity but responds to it. We decode risk to unlock opportunity, helping our clients navigate uncertainty with clarity, speed, and confidence.
If you are excited about this opportunity but do not meet every single requirement, please apply! You still may be a great fit for this role or other open roles. We are seeking candidates who model our values: invest in every relationship, lead with curiosity, champion diverse perspectives, turn inputs into actions, and uphold trust through integrity.
Skills and Competencies
10+ years product management experience in insurance, reinsurance, catastrophe modeling, or geospatial risk analytics
Deep understanding of property & casualty workflows including underwriting, exposure management, portfolio risk, and event response
Strong background in geospatial intelligence and location-based data applications
Experience delivering data-driven user experiences and workflow-centric SaaS applications
Proven ability to lead cross-functional initiatives across UX, platform, engineering, and modeling teams
Preferred
Familiarity with hazard data, event footprints, loss modeling, and Cat workflows
Understanding of exposure data standards (OED, EDM, CEDE) and address/location quality frameworks
Experience integrating third-party risk data providers and real-time event feeds
Industry visibility — published insights, conference speaker, working groups, or committees advantageous
Basic understanding of artificial intelligence concepts, with curiosity and enthusiasm for learning how AI tools can be used to improve processes and drive efficiency. Interest in exploring AI systems and a willingness to develop awareness of responsible AI practices, including risk management and ethical use.
Responsibilities
We are seeking a Director of Product Management to lead the vision, strategy, and execution for delivering enriched risk data and geospatial intelligence into business-user workflows across the Intelligent Risk Platform (IRP).
This role does not build or engineer the data itself. Instead, you will:
Define how enriched risk data (ERD), data quality tools (DQT), and third-party hazard/event data are exposed and activated across IRP applications.
Build the user experiences, workflows, and decision-support interactions that enable underwriters, exposure managers, portfolio analysts, and reinsurance professionals to consume and apply this data.
Ensure each IRP application — UnderwriteIQ, ExposureIQ, Risk Modeler, TreatyIQ, and others — leverages the right data in the right context based on user persona, job-to-be-done, and industry use case.
You will be the bridge between:
IRP data & platform teams (who build/ingest/enrich data), and
Application product teams & customers (who need actionable insights and workflows powered by that data).
Basic understanding of artificial intelligence concepts, with curiosity and enthusiasm for learning how AI tools can be used to improve processes and drive efficiency. Interest in exploring AI systems and a willingness to develop awareness of responsible AI practices, including risk management and ethical use.
Key Responsibilities
Vision & Strategy
- Own the vision and roadmap for risk data experiences across the IRP application suite.
- Define how risk enrichment, data quality scoring, event data, and geospatial intelligence fuel underwriting, accumulation, portfolio, treaty, and event-response workflows.
- Establish a data-to-decision experience strategy that increases user productivity, transparency, and insight delivery at the point of decision.
Experience & Workflow Design
- Translate enriched data outputs into context-aware UI experiences, visualizations, and workflows inside IRP applications.
- Partner with UX and platform teams to deliver event footprints, hazard layers, confidence scores, location intelligence visuals, and quality indicators directly to users.
- Ensure workflows are tailored by role (underwriter, exposure analyst, treaty analyst, broker) and business process.
Cross-Platform Enablement
- Collaborate with platform services, data platform teams, and application PMs to ensure consistent data usage, terminology, visualization patterns, and availability.
- Develop application-level data consumption standards, reusable components, and best practices for incorporating enriched risk data.
- Partner with data PMs to ensure client feedback shapes data roadmap priorities.
Stakeholder Engagement
- Engage directly with customers, brokers, (re)insurers, and MGAs to validate workflows and ensure data delivers actionable business value.
- Build internal alignment across underwriting, catastrophe modeling, and data science stakeholders.
About the team
Within the Insurance Property & Specialty business, we build powerful SaaS platforms that enable insurers, reinsurers, MGAs, and ILS investors to underwrite smarter, price risk accurately, optimize portfolio performance, and bring new products to market faster.
We are entering an era of platform modernization and AI-driven innovation — and we’re looking for a product leader who can architect the future of risk data experiences across the Intelligent Risk Platform application suite.
