Skills and Competencies

  • Senior level expertise with macOS, Windows experience is a plus.
  • Solid understanding of and experience with Endpoint Engineering technologies.
  • Automation skills are a must: Python, and Bash.
  • Proficient knowledge and understanding of Cloud Concepts.
  • Proficient knowledge and understanding of Microsoft ecosystem.
  • Working knowledge Infrastructure as Code (IaC) for Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment (CI/CD).
  • Proficient knowledge and understanding of Entra AD (SSO, Entra Hybrid Join).
  • Proficient knowledge of integrated components, including AD Certificate Services, DNS, DHCP, permissions, and authentication.
  • Possesses skills to provide consulting on Microsoft topics and designs with team members and other peer teams.
  • Solid understanding of security concepts (SSL, PKI, IPSec, VPNs, Firewalls, DMZ, Proxy).
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Entra ID, RBAC, conditional access policies leveraging Okta (or similar).
  • Ability to document, diagram, and flowchart sophisticated design concepts is a must.
  • Ability to optimally present information in both technical and non-technical terms.

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field, or equivalent demonstrated relevant work experience.
  • Industry certifications in relevant areas is a plus.

Responsibilities

Recognized as a technical authority within the department, offering leadership and guidance to both technical and non-technical team members. Demonstrate broad expertise across multiple areas of information technology and act as a key contributor on strategic or enterprise-wide technology initiatives. As an Assistant Vice President (AVP) Systems Engineer, you will collaborate with a team of problem solvers to manage complex business challenges from strategy to execution.

  • Optimize Platform Performance: Continuously enhance system functionality for a better in class user experience.
  • Innovate Technology Solutions: Pioneer new technologies and methodologies to address complex business challenges and drive organizational growth.
  • Endpoint Infrastructure Focus: Specialize in engineering tasks for improving endpoint services and management by building and leveraging data integrations with Power BI.
  • User Experience (UX) Evaluation: Define UX standards, optimize interfaces, and anticipate user interactions with system updates.
  • Enhance User Experience Design: Foster employee productivity through user-centered design improvements.
  • Interdepartmental Coordination: Work with network, server, and security teams for seamless infrastructure compatibility.
  • Automation and Scripting: Develop tools for more efficient macOS endpoint management and deployment. Conducting highly complex systems automation/scripting and systems support activities, including system integration and monitoring.
  • Continuous Process Improvement: Identify streamlining opportunities for applications, systems, and platforms. Implement and manage code management required practices for macOS endpoint management between engineering and operations teams.
  • Managing devices via Microsoft Intune and Jamf, including configuration policies, app management, and software updates.
  • Implementing security policies through Microsoft Intune and Jamf. Enforcing compliance and security frameworks.
  • Ability to deal with ambiguity and drive clarity and actions, working with a variety of development environments and platforms, participating in cross-departmental teams to solve business and technical issues, understanding the long-term "big picture" and short-term perspectives and how they relate to achieving targeted business outcomes.

About the team

We are seeking an experienced senior engineer specializing in endpoint engineering for macOS, with extensive expertise in both Microsoft and Apple technologies. The ideal candidate will join a dynamic environment where they will be expected to address complex challenges and develop innovative endpoint technology solutions that align with business needs, ensure security, and provide an exceptional end-user experience. This role requires independently leading projects from inception to completion, including technology research, tool selection, solution design, engineering, implementation, and transition to operations. A strong focus on innovation and a commitment to staying current with cutting-edge technologies are essential qualities for this position.

For US-based roles only: the anticipated hiring base salary range for this position is [[$123,100 - [[$178,450, depending on factors such as experience, education, level, skills, and location. This range is based on a full-time position. In addition to base salary, this role is eligible for incentive compensation.
