Skills and Competencies

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience administering enterprise Microsoft Active Directory environments, including a strong knowledge of DNS, DHCP, and Group Policy.
  • Proven experience managing identity and access management (IAM) and directory services tools (e.g., Quest suite for roles, backup, and auditing).
  • Familiarity with hybrid infrastructure, including cloud directory services (e.g., Azure AD) and their integration with on-premise Active Directory.
  • Excellent understanding of networking protocols and security best practices, with experience in conducting system and security assessments.
  • Experience leveraging AI-powered tools for anomaly detection and enhanced security monitoring within directory services is desired.
  • Strong technical leadership and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and mentor team members.
  • Relevant industry certifications (e.g., MCSE, MCSA) are highly desired.

 

 

Education

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is required.

 

 

Function Focus & Key Responsibilities:

Manage and improve the company's hybrid Active Directory environment, ensuring high levels of data quality, security, and availability.

  • The Domain Administrator will be responsible for managing Active Directory and all associated directory management products in a hybrid infrastructure. This individual will maintain, administer, and improve the company's Active Directory environment and related technologies.
  • Administer and maintain the enterprise Microsoft Active Directory infrastructure, including related identity and directory services management tools.
  • Develop, implement, and enforce policies and best practices for Active Directory, Group Policy, and associated network resources.
  • Manage core AD services including configurations, Group Policy Objects (GPOs), DNS, and DHCP in a hybrid environment.
  • Implement and monitor security controls and best practices to mitigate risks and ensure the integrity of the directory services.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues related to Active Directory and integrated services, serving as a point of escalation.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional IT teams to ensure the reliable operation of systems supporting business objectives.
  • Conduct regular system audits, vulnerability scanning, and security assessments of the Active Directory environment.
  • Serve as the technical lead for the Active Directory team, mentoring junior members and guiding technical strategy.
  • Participate in an on-call rotation to provide after-hours and weekend support for critical incidents and planned changes.

 

 

About the team

The Senior System Engineer is a key member of the Technology Services team, which is responsible for the design, implementation, and maintenance of the company's core technology infrastructure. This role is central to ensuring the security, stability, and efficiency of our identity and access management systems, collaborating closely with security, networking, and application teams to deliver robust IT solutions.

For US-based roles only: the anticipated hiring base salary range for this position is $125,000 -  $175,000, depending on factors such as experience, education, level, skills, and location. This range is based on a full-time position. In addition to base salary, this role is eligible for incentive compensation.
