We are seeking an AVP - Mgr Software Engineering who excels in both technical expertise and leadership. This role requires current hands-on coding with Java and Angular while simultaneously managing direct reports and leading project-based work. The ideal candidate will bring deep technical knowledge, a strong ability to mentor and lead a team, and a proven track record of delivering high-quality software solutions in a fast-paced environment.
Qualifications
- 10+ years of hands-on experience with Java development in enterprise-grade applications.
- Extensive experience with Angular and Typescript, including developing and maintaining scalable front-end architectures.
- Strong expertise in building and deploying microservices using frameworks like Spring Boot.
- Proven experience in designing, implementing, and maintaining APIs (REST, GraphQL, etc.).
- Demonstrated ability to write high-quality, testable, and maintainable code as part of current hands-on coding responsibilities.
- Recent experience managing direct reports, providing mentorship, and fostering team growth.
- Proven track record of leading large-scale software development projects, including project planning, execution, and delivery.
- Strong problem-solving skills, collaborative mindset, and ability to manage cross-functional teams in agile environments.
Education
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
Responsibilities
- Lead the design, development, and deployment of enterprise-level software solutions using Java, Angular, Typescript, and Spring Boot.
- Drive the implementation of microservices, ensuring scalability, performance, and reliability.
- Actively contribute to coding tasks and peer reviews to maintain high-quality code standards across the team.
- Manage and mentor a team of software engineers, fostering skill development and career growth.
- Collaborate with product managers, designers, and other stakeholders to define project requirements and deliverables.
- Drive adoption of best practices and modern development methodologies, including CI/CD, automated testing, and agile workflows.
- Lead the design and implementation of robust API solutions, ensuring secure and efficient integrations with external systems.
- Track project progress, allocate resources, and ensure on-time delivery of high-quality software products that align with business objectives.
For US-based roles only: the anticipated hiring base salary range for this position is $140,200.00 - $203,350.00, depending on factors such as experience, education, level, skills, and location. This range is based on a full-time position. In addition to base salary, this role is eligible for incentive compensation.
