The Business Process Management Group is dedicated to driving continuous improvement and leading change initiatives across the Commercial organization. Leveraging Lean Six Sigma, Design Thinking, and Agile methodologies, the team enhances customer experience, operational efficiency, and process consistency.
We’re seeking an AVP – Business Process Management to lead initiatives that improve process effectiveness, embed strong control environments, and enable business readiness. It plays a critical role in managing process improvement and change management efforts, while fostering a culture of continuous improvement across the global Commercial organization.
Reporting to the SVP, Commercial Process Group, the role also oversees the performance and development of Process and Control associates engaged in Lean Six Sigma and risk-focused initiatives. Success is measured by the delivery of impactful improvements in efficiency, risk mitigation, and team performance.
Qualifications:
- 8+ years of experience in process, project, and program management, ideally within the financial services industry.
- 5+ years of hands-on experience leading Lean Six Sigma initiatives with measurable outcomes; Black Belt certification preferred.
- Skilled in defining, designing, documenting, and implementing scalable business processes, with strong knowledge of Quote-to-Cash workflows.
- Adept at managing senior stakeholders and building strong relationships across all levels of the organization.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office tools, including Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Project, Access, and Visio.
- Results-oriented with a strong sense of urgency; able to prioritize, execute, and deliver under pressure.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; able to tailor messaging to diverse audiences.
- Experienced in leading and mentoring others, both directly and through influence; leads with empathy and integrity.
- Strong analytical and research skills with high attention to detail; thrives in matrixed organizations.
- Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively within dynamic, cross-functional teams.
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, or IT; Master’s degree preferred.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategy & Leadership
- Lead and drive Process Improvement initiatives, transformation projects, and serve as Process Owner for assigned processes within Commercial, aligning with regulatory, operational, and technology objectives.
- Represent the Commercial function in internal forums and cross-functional initiatives, while managing and developing direct reports to meet evolving business needs.
Process Optimization & Governance
- Identify and resolve customer pain points through root cause analysis and targeted enhancements.
- Improve end-to-end process efficiency, reduce manual effort, and strengthen controls.
- Track and resolve process issues and improvement opportunities within defined timelines.
- Define and manage process standards; ensure alignment with PMO best practices.
- Establish governance routines to monitor control effectiveness and address gaps.
- Embed KPIs and metrics to measure process performance and impact.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner with global Commercial teams and cross-functional groups (data, tech, risk, legal, compliance, innovation) to implement improvements and coordinate regional and ad hoc initiatives, including business readiness and go-live support.
- Contribute to technology governance by evaluating and prioritizing process-related initiatives.
Documentation, Training & Change Management
- Maintain comprehensive and standardized process documentation, develop and deliver training to support adoption, and train staff on procedures, control reporting, and regulatory changes.
- Draft documentation to support regulatory and procedural updates, and develop communication plans for future readiness.
Project & Resource Management
- Oversee and prioritize the process improvement pipeline.
- Govern in-flight projects by tracking progress, mitigating risks, and ensuring timely delivery.
For US-based roles only: the anticipated hiring base salary range for this position is $134,400.00 - $194,850.00, depending on factors such as experience, education, level, skills, and location. This range is based on a full-time position. In addition to base salary, this role is eligible for incentive compensation. Moody’s also offers a competitive benefits package, including not but limited to medical, dental, vision, parental leave, paid time off, a 401(k) plan with employee and company contribution opportunities, life, disability, and accident insurance, a discounted employee stock purchase plan, and tuition reimbursement.
