Duties: Assist in developing analytical frameworks to assess risks related to Blockchain-backed issuances, and crypto-assets. Apply knowledge of Blockchain, crypto-assets and DeFi. Partner with multiple teams across MIS, including other subject matter experts (ESG, cyber) to clearly articulate MIS’s views. Provide forward-looking views with a high degree of clarity to investors and other market participants. Publish informed views in a range of research reports and recurring opinions. Cultivate external market relationships and respond to market requests. Build rapport with various market participants, including DeFi and Blockchain experts and think tanks, investors, intermediaries, and the media. Communicate critical credit views and demonstrate deep sector knowledge. Collaborate at all levels within the organization and mentor/develop employees across the organization on Blockchain, crypto and related topics. Manage and foster relationships with the highest level of professional integrity, transparency, and fairness. Participate in and/or lead special projects to advance the broader organization’s strategic objectives, which include solidifying Moody’s market position, enhancing operations, developing talent, and growing the business. Domestic and international travel required approximately 5-10% of the time. Destination and frequency impossible to predict.
Requirements: Requires a Master’s degree or foreign equivalent in Finance, Risk Management, Business Administration, or closely related quantitative field plus at least two (2) years of experience performing credit rating analysis within structured finance. Full term of experience must include the following: working with credit rating methodologies; conducting quantitative financial modeling and statistical analysis in credit markets, including US financial institutions sector; presenting credit analyses internally and externally; and analyzing deal documents and authoring credit opinions, issuer analyses, or internal research memos. Domestic and international travel required approximately 5-10% of the time. Destination and frequency impossible to predict. Alternatively, employer will accept a Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in an acceptable field as stated above plus five (5) years of progressively responsible experience as stated above.
For US-based roles only: the anticipated hiring base salary range for this position is $148,678 to $236,800/yr, depending on factors such as experience, education, level, skills, and location. This range is based on a full-time position. In addition to base salary, this role is eligible for incentive compensation.
