Title: Asst Dir-Financial Engineer
Location: 405 Howard Street, Suite 300, San Francisco, CA 94105
Duties: Analyze complex financial fixed-income instruments. Aid in the implementation, customization and use of analytic solutions. Reverse engineer Structured Finance transactions in our Moody’s proprietary cashflow engines. Model cash flow waterfalls based on indentures and legal documentation. Work with proprietary datasets to maintain and update model for Structured Finance transactions. Assist senior members of the team in maintaining and improving data and modelling processes . Work on client requests to investigate and resolve issues in existing models. Aid in the development of Moody's proprietary cashflow engine. Utilize AI to automate data extraction from legal documentation.
Requirements: Must have a Master’s degree or above, or foreign equivalent in Finance, Applied Mathematics, Financial Engineering, or a closely related quantitative field. Must possess academic training or experience with the following: performing econometric and statistical modeling; developing credit risk models and applying knowledge of financial quantitative methods, financial fixed income instruments including structured finance, along with cashflow analysis techniques; working with Bloomberg or related financial databases; applying knowledge of Probability, Statistics, Monte Carlo simulation; utilizing data and programming tools, including VBA, Machine Learning, Python, SQL; and applying knowledge of algorithms, and data analysis.
For US-based roles only: the anticipated hiring base salary range for this position is $80,538 to $172,850/yr, depending on factors such as experience, education, level, skills, and location. This range is based on a full-time position. In addition to base salary, this role is eligible for incentive compensation. Moody’s also offers a competitive benefits package, including not but limited to medical, dental, vision, parental leave, paid time off, a 401(k) plan with employee and company contribution opportunities, life, disability, and accident insurance, a discounted employee stock purchase plan, and tuition reimbursement.
